Gsynch not running properly

Hi all !

Currently it seems DCS is not able to run Gsync properly.

_ Gsync is setup correctly in NVCP:

-Activated for fullscreen and windowed mode. (So it's not a problem of Alt+Enter, I tried both)

-Vsync+Gsync both activated and tripple buffering disabled

_ Vsync is OFF in DCS graphic options.

I've even activated Gsync indicator overlay to be sure it's active in-game (and it is !)

In an other simulator (IL-2 BoX) Gsynch run smooth as silk, when I'm flying at very low altitude and look at the ground at my 3 or 9 o'clock it's perfectly fluid, no stuttering.

But in DCS I get stuttering with Gsync when I look at the ground at my 3 or 9 o'clock, whereas it should avoid that.

Some times ago Gsynch worked fine in DCS (I don't remember since when it's broken because I was away from DCS some monthes).

The only trick I have found to almost remove stuttering is to cap my FPS to 60 in autoexec.cfg with "options.graphics.maxfps = 60". That's sad when you have a 144Hz monitor…

So, will Gsync get some love from ED please ? :helpsmilie:

Thank you.

dude, just search on the "game performance" forum section, it's full of threads like this......trackir is not compatible with gsnync and direct3d.

Goa is correct . There is a thread here petitioning Natural Point at this time . Having stated you have been away from DCS for several months , is it possible you were running an earlier version ? 1.5 and 2.0 are very different beasts

Than 2.5 .

Yes but even 1.5 was in direct3d as well as many others games, so I don't understand why track-IR and gsync+d3d would not be compatible now specifically with DCS.

At the time I bought a G-Sync monitor specially for DCS to avoid stutters. So now I am very disappointed that it don't work anymore without the FPS limiter trick.

trackir works smoothly only at 60 fps, 120 fps or hihger.

Any value between 60 fps and 120 fps generates shimmering, stuttery, jittery.

As dcs 1.5 was not so hardware demanding at it is 2.5 , probably you did not notice this issue becuase of higher achievable fps in dcs 1.5

Now with 2.5 the only solution to avoid stuttering in game when using trackir is limiting the fps at 60 (via msi riva turner or nvidia inspector) .

Trackir runs in OPENGL, dcs RUNS in D3D, there is probably interference between the 2 rednering methods.

Natural point is not uprading their software since 2016, in the meantime we had dozenz of win 10 versions during the last 2 years and despit this natural point is not gving a shit about uprading their software.

Best regards.
