nah, they will have much more middle-east terrain in the future, : / ...

so the problem is how can we "civil" user get a "military" edition? and price? LOL

steal beast and p3d pro edition is also sold on civil market, for "Hard-Core Simulation Fans".

It is funny seeing this much discussion over TBS. This is almost nothing new. TBS was always another face of coin, I think it was being pitched even before DCS was released. We have always known that ED has been doing military products for years.

Some stuff trickle down between consumer and military versions, but some do not. Seeing names of theaters and aircraft on TBS site as under development, does not necessarily mean an announcement for them in DCS. They may arrive in DCS too, or they may not.

Different maps, different aircraft / aircraft versions on DCS engine for professional customers have been around for some years, there are even videos on youtube. We don't have them, and likely we won't either. It is exciting seeing the update, and "possible" new stuff to speculate on, but that is really it, speculation on our part.

Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V

you can find the video on matt's channel, or just search the battle simulator, i've seen the uav's sensor simulator, however there are very few video fot it(only 4 and all at 2010).

https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt/search?query=the+battle+simulator

and they've mentioned on HP, they are working on the ukraine/crimea, syria, and afghanistan terrain. for aircraft module, f16, f18 and ah64 is in developed, we also know the hornet will come into our dcsw in this year, so how about others(module and terrain?)

well, matt didn't mentioned them on our live video or newsletter, who knows.

So I'm in the military how do I get this?

Not really how it works, nothing to get, you tell them what you want, they make it to suit the customers needs, built around their core system. That's my basic understanding of how it works, but I have not involvement or real knowledge into that side of things.

Think of a customized vehicle.

DCS is your civilian Hummer.

The rugged / reinforced Hummer is TBS, it is made on request and on requirements, not sold in the store.

You might get to drive a Hummer if you're in the military and your gov't bought them and assigned one to you.

Otherwise you're stuck in the truck like the other grunts, but you can still buy and drive your civilian Hummer back at home ;)

Yes and no... there is nothing to get, there is something to order, I am sure you dont need to be a high ranking military official either, I am sure if I had the money I could order a simulation of a plane myself... I dont think I have that kind of money though :)

TFC and ED has been the developer of Desk Top Trainer (DTT) simulations for the United States military. Completed projects include:

- A-10C DTT.

- AC-130U DTT. Sensor and weapon operator procedures trainer for the USAF.

- UAV Operator Station.

So the A-10C DTT became a DCS module, I wouldn't mind seeing a DCS: AC-130U... :music_whistling:

Note: no need to take this seriously, I'm just having fun. :pilotfly:

Under their desecration, I think the UAV and AC-130u isn't the fully modeled module...

only have some part of component, ac130u have sensor and weapon module, uav only have sensor module. Only for special user.

You mean like the vehicles in Combined Arms? ;)

I'm sure it's not. :)

Since it is a Sensor and weapon trainer, probably there is no cockpit, external model, flight model, etc.

That is why I added the note that I was just having fun and not really thinking it is viable (though keeping my fingers crossed...:music_whistling:).

I'm willing to bet the F-16 and AH-64 are not being developed under a restricted client contract. The site implies that these will be full fledged modules and not just desktop avionics trainers.

I imagine that the only products that may be restricted to TBS are products that official clients have paid to be produced(and thus are owned by the client). And even then, a lot of the tools developed to make their product would no doubt become accessible for development in other modules.

Everything there is in reference of TBS, no assumptions should be made that any of it will find its way to DCS World.

If they develop something for someone, and the licensing is only good for that group, or is sensitive, etc... then no, even if we are willing to pay for it, doesnt mean they can make it work for us.

ED isnt stupid, they want to bring as much as they can to us, they want to be successful.

When we get news letters, it starts with TFC/ED

Is this "tfc" that "tfc" ? are there 2 companies?

every module they showed in the shots exist in dcs world also. do they have any addons that we don't have in dcs?. do they have their own developers?

what makes them a military sim company?
