Controls aren't synchronized properly in the current versions (2.0 & 1.5). You can already take rides in the backseat with another player flying - it's been this way since release. But there were always problems with synchronization. For example: If the player controlling the aircraft puts the landing gear down the other player won't see that and vice versa.
