MB-339A Free vs Pay.

Hi!

This is a good question 🙂 Below the differences between the two versions:

Flight Model

  • Free version - EFM and Engine Performance based on real documentations and pilots feedback
  • Pay version - Like free version with some refinements in terms of performances and global handling (including improved ground interaction). Engine stalls are now reproduces.

Electric system:

  • Free version - Simplified electrical system: the essential DC bus provides electrical power to other systems. Load meters indication is fake.
  • Pay version - Fully working electrical system with five separated DC bus (Essential, Primary, Secondary, Anti-Ice, Armament), six AC bus (115V Essential, 26V Essential, 115V Primary, 26V Primary, 115V Secondary, 26V Secondary), Circuit Breakers logic and BUS Reset switch. Each bus becomes active according a specific logic based on Generators and Alternators activation. Load meters indiacation is real and indicates the actual electric load on generator 1 and 2.

Hydraulic system:

  • Free version - Fake hydraulic system: this systems is not reproduced in the mod, gauges indication is fake.
  • Pay version - Fully working hydraulic system with two separated circuits (Main and Emergency). Main circuits provides power to landing gear, wheel brakes, nose wheel steering,
flaps, speedbrake and aileron servo control (if you deactivate the aileron servo the pilots is not able to make a complete lateral excursion of the stick. The excursion decreases if airspeed increases for dynamic pressure effect). The emergency system provides the pressure required for the landing gear emergency extension and operation of the emergency brake (on the same circuit is connected the parking brake - if you activate the emergency brake the anti skid does not work).

Pressurisation system:

  • Free version - Simplified version in order to avoi pilot hypoxia.
  • Pay version - Fully working pressurisation system based on the pressurisation chart reported in flight manual (the cabin altitude gauge shows the actual equivalent cabin pressure). The system can be turned off via the dedicated guarded switch and the ram air scoop can be used the improve the cabin ventilation (only for emergency in case of air contamination - air contamination not reproduced but the ram air scoop activation when the cabin is pressurised causes a loss of pressure. Added the possibility to regulate the cabin temperature in order to avoid the canopy fogging.

Oxygen system:

  • Free version - Fake, not reproduced in the mod.
  • Pay version - Fully working oxygen system with two separate bottles. Oxygen consumption is based on pilots presence (if you fly "solo" you have a greater oxygen autonomy).

Armament system:

  • Free version - Simplified system with Emerg Jettison, Sel Jettison feature.
  • Pay version - Fully working armament system with real master arm logic (if you turn on the master arm switch when you are on ground, when you are in flight with gear lever up you cannot fire any weapon. You need to turn off the master arm switch, and then to turn on it again: this will allow the weapon firing), working ground fire switch, working fire inhibitor switch (for instructor station), working fuze switch.

Navigation system:

  • Free version - Not included
  • Pay version - Fully working nav system including VOR/DME, TACAN, ILS and GPS (with working CDU and possibility to set the DTC)

Communication system:

  • Free version - Not included
  • Pay version - COMM1 and COMM2 radios reproduced according flight manual procedures with three separated PTT (Stick PTT which allows communication to selected radio on ICS panel, COMM1 and COMM2 PTTs locaded on throttle which allow communication on relevant radios overriding the ICS radio selection). DCS-SRS compatibile from day 1.

Fuel system:

  • Free version - Simplified fuel system with fuel transfer logic
  • Pay version - Fully working fuel system including electrical and mechanical pumps, fuel dump, fuel unbalance and improved fuel transfer logic

Flight control:

  • Free version - Direct flight controls not connected to hydraulic system
  • Pay version - Flight controls connected to hydraulic system, improved trim logic, added Gust Lock Device.

Canopy:

  • Free version - Simplified opening/closing logic
  • Pay version - Complete opening/closing procedure, including failure possibility if taking off with canopy unlocked (in-flight canopy opening or detach) and emergency canopy severance.

Anti-Ice

  • Free version - Not included
  • Pay version - Complete anti-ice system with canopy icing and windshield demist feature, pitot and AoA sensors anti-ice and engine anti-ice. Ice formation causes loss of aerodynamic and engine performances.

Lights system:

  • Free version - Included
  • Pay version - Like free version with consumption on electrical system.

Sounds:

  • Free version - Very basic sound system
  • Pay version - Currently WIP, we are improving them day by day.

Multicrew:

  • Free version - Possibility to share the same cockpit without instrument sync
  • Pay version - Complete aircraft sync

3D models and textures:

Improved cockpit geometry and more details, high quality textures and improved aircraft 3D model.

Miscellaneous:

IFR Hood, ELT, IFF with DCS-SRS integration are included in the Pay version.

Here a playlist with some features, some videos are old but features shown are included in the current version.

I think this is all, hope I have not forgotten anything.

If you have questions, please ask 🙂

Regarding the price, we have to discuss it with ED before saying something.
