hansangb Posted November 24, 2017 Share Posted November 24, 2017 While Razer's mechanical keyboards are awesome for gaming, I have gotten so used to ergonomic keyboards that I have to stay the course. I picked up the Sculpt keyboard and it comes with a detached numpad. So now, I can put a velcro band on it and strap it to my thigh! I'm doing the same for the Chroma Tartarus. cichlidfan Posted November 24, 2017 Share Posted November 24, 2017 I used an ergonomic keyboard (Microsoft Natural, which I still own a couple of) for years, in my work and home offices. However, for gaming, I prefer other solutions. A detachable numeric keyboard can easily be replaced by a separate USB numeric keypad. It is good that you have found a good solution for your environment and equipment but there are many ways to skin that cat. Of course, since I own about a dozen keyboards, from Razer Blackwidow's, Das Keyboards, and several generations of Logitech and Corsair gaming keyboards, along with a Logitech G35 and a Razer Orbweaver, I have lots of options available. I am also not a fan of wireless keyboards, or mice, for gaming purposes. "I would have scored better if only I had a gaming keyboard" LOL. But it is true that wireless keyboards can't send the keyboard sequence like Razer's of the world can. And that does lead to better gaming. But for DCS, I don't really need that level of precision so I get to kill two birds with one stone. Work and play keyboard. But that mechanical feedback (like the old IBM days) I do miss it. Some hate the noise, some love it. Currently, I have a Corsair K95 RGB hooked to my flightsim pit but I don't use that machine for anything else. My home office uses a Das Keyboard (don't recall which model) while my den game/surfing machine uses a Logitech G910. As long as it works for you is all that matters. I just didn't have the heart to throw it out. And I do agree that back in the days, devices were built to last. Now, most have a shelf life of just a few years.
