SABRE PILOTS WANTED!!

Bader

Recommended Posts

Sabre Pilots Wanted!! All are WELCOME!

After reading the numerous posts regarding AI abilities/damage modeling,

we have created multiplayer missions that we think will give F86f Sabre

pilots the type of gameplay and combat they have been searching for.

Our missions are for Sabre pilots only and all feature:

1. PvE.

2. Coop.

3. Mission oriented gameplay.

4. Fun dogfighting against A.I. Migs. (the result of countless hours of

working on balancing the performance of these two aircraft to make

them as equal as possible.

Some missions feature:

1. A human JTAC over TeamSpeak.

2. IFR takeoff and landing. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground-controlled_approach).

To benefit from our hard work over the last two+ years of testing since the F86f Sabre / Mig15bis were released,

you will need to have a copy of DCS World rolled back to version 1.5.3.53279. (this is the best patch for AI,

in our humble opinion.)

You can keep two copies of DCS - one version that is up to date and one of the above mentioned version.

All are welcome to join us (LRRP & Bader), in the ATAG TeamSpeak, DCS KOREAN WAR lobby. link: 216.52.148.29 password for TS is calais

We usually host our Missions on Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday. USA Pacific Time, approximately 07:30am onwards.

for a better control of the ground units, you can use this script

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2713321

just put it after Mist. It gives you latlong of enemy units that are LOS of your own units. Also, you have to put a trigger zone called BEB in the bullseye for blue units, or BER in for red units in the red bullseye, it will give you the Bullseye position of ground units, and a brief description of the units.

Also you can mark enemies, with smoke if they are at less than 2km.

You will like it.

"A very professional run Server"

Having Flown ( granted some time ago) on their server, I cannot recommend these guys highly enough, as soon as you logged on, they helped set up coms etc, and whatever your level they went out of there way to make you welcome,

If memory serves, at the time I was on, it was the "Fun Dogfighting AI" and although this was not my cup of tea so to speak, jeeze its fast and B**** to walls I can assure anyone wishing to learn the Delights of the F86 this is the place to go.

I am not totally new to flying but would not rate my skills in either the 86 or mig as proficient, but

Id really be interested if there was in the "Missions and Features for the missions to taught to be flown from Ramp to shutdown as it was in the days of mig alley, as I reside in "Alba-GMT" and these guys fly PST it should be ok but only during weekends as I work when you guys fly weekdays.( if they do fly weekdays that is)

I have the Mig15 and can go red( but again I am looking for to fly as it was course minus the Language :) )

Interesting. May have to come and see what this is all about. Thanks for putting this all together.

Sign me up, whats the TS address?

im mature have a mic a flightstick track ir etc

Guys,

What if the Mig15bis wasn't a flying Tank?

What if the Mig15bis couldn't out climb the F86f Sabre?

What if the F86f Sabre could "Run Down" a Mig 15bis in level flight?

What if the F86-F Sabre and the Mig-15bis were "equally" matched in a dogfight?

What if the F86f Sabre's Guns didn't overheat after firing only one long burst?

In our Coop PVE missions all of the above are true..... Are they good enough reasons for you to make a 2nd copy of DCS World and roll it back?

What if the gameplay was so good that you were glad you did?!!!

Hi Bader

I fly the F86 or Mig15 most nights ( a non combat environment)

I am interested but point you to my first post, I am really interested in flying as it was in the days of Mig Alley from ramp to shut down, to the extent of doing patrols even that end with no contact, for me its about total emersion.

As much as I enjoyed shooting( using that term loosely ;) ) down AI migs to a point, it was not for me.

Id love to keep in contact with you guys.

PM would be great, perhaps we could sort something out.

My Experince on this server

I wanted to post my experience concerning this server. I'm a huge F-86F fan and love this aircraft with a passion. I have been sorely disappointed by the game play that exists in default DCS concerning the Sabre and Mig-15. I have been flying this module since the day it was released and have tried many servers including the Sierra Hotel events and while I'm able to outfly any opponent I have come up against I have been frustrated to no end by chasing (and catching) Migs that I fill full of holes and then end up running out of ammo to no effect. Of course, after years of flying this aircraft I still get to listen to noobs tell me how I must be doing something wrong. The final draw for me is when the Sabre was released out of beta and the training missions were added. In the gun training mission, you can set endless ammo and sit on the six of a non-maneuvering Mig and after your first burst you can watch as all the rest of the rounds harmlessly fly by in a shotgun pattern. Or when I play online and Mig lovers tell me how "I didn't hit anything vital" while they continue to fly and fight with no tail, both black and white smoke streaming out of their flying wreck that no longer has an enclosed canopy.

I have now spent many hours flying with these extremely knowledgeable gents (one of whom is an actual pilot) and have never had more fun in any simulator I have ever flown. No...it is not made easy; it is just made correct. On this server I find myself flying an F-86F against a Mig-15 bis not a F-86A vs a Mig-15 bis like the default files have you doing. They fly mission oriented operations with multiple aspects ranging from formation flying to ground attack to AWACS escort to dogfighting to defending a naval vessel from cruise missiles dropped from a Bear Bombers at 15 thousand feet all while being coordinated by a dedicated JTAC with a radar screen in front of him and a passion for “doing it right!” Cause if you don’t do it right, you’re going to do it again! The missions never play out the same why twice and can be flown from morning until night without ever covering the same ground twice. They are long, hard, accurate and more than anything FUN! I have learned how to fly and land making a 0 visibility radar guided approach. I have also found the true meaning of a wingman flying on here. No more sitting on TS with guys that have nothing to say or provide useless or no information only to watch teammates crash into each other trying for the same kill. No longer asking someone to watch my six to find out later he didn’t follow as rounds slam into my six. This is not a run and gun server, if that is what you want look elsewhere.…..If you want intense challenging play that is extremely dynamic look no further.

Cheers guys, the amount of work you have put into this server is amazing and the amount of time you allocate every week to helping people learn is awe inspiring and I can’t thank you enough!

Thank you Alphazulu for your much appreciated comments and your commitment to fly with us.

We have had a lot of fun with the extensive testing we've done and are glad

you have been apart of that too.

We are hoping others, like you will 'Roll Back' to our version as described in Post one, and enjoy flying with us as much as you have.

Again, many thanks for the posted comments.

I would love to fly with you guys Bader but unfortunately for me I cannot justify having another version of DCS World on my limited space hard-drive. It is just a no-go for me at this time. Hopefully I will be able to change this in the future and then partake in your flights.

Same.

Let's see if I remember this thread tomorrow and I will see what can I do.

How do I install a rollbacked version anyway? let it update until the said version and then press on cancel? That simple?

To anyone wishing to do this......

--------"How do I install a rollbacked version anyway?"---------

It's easy to set up two different, fully functional versions of DCS on your computer. Here's how....

(Please note that what follows is for non-Steam DCS).

First make a copy of your current install of the game anywhere on your computer handy for you.

Just be sure to put it in a different place than your current install.

For example, you could make a folder on your desk top named DCS 1.5.3.53279 and keep your rolled back version in there.

By default, on our Win. 7 machines, DCS installs itself at C:\ Program Files \ Eagle Dynamics.

Just copy that entire Eagle Dynamics folder into your new folder on your desk top.

Now you will be working with your new copy only.

Open your new "Eagle Dynamics" folder then the "DCS World" folder and you should see a folder called "bin".

While holding down the left shift key, right click the bin folder.

From the drop down list select "open command window here".

In the command window type "DCS_Updater.exe update 1.5.3.53279" without the quotes and press Enter.

Thats it!

It will start the roll back process by checking for allready installed files which saves a ton of time vs. installing everything from scratch.

Now come chat with us on TeamSpeak.

TeamSpeak info, including the times we are usually on and have our server up, is in post #1 of this thread.

Why bother with all of this? - Then read post # 16 in this thread.

We understand that today's SSD's are fast and expensive and often have limited capacity.

If limited drive capacity is an issue just move the version of DCS you are currently "not" using to a different drive on your machine.

If you don't have another drive on your machine a 64 gig thumb drive can be had on Amazon for $12.00.

Bader,

I'd be interested in some co-op play in the Sabre jet. I am in a squadron now that uses new iron, and I am struggling, it'd be neato to get with some folks who like some older style of warfare in the Sabre. Any chance I could be included in this? I'd need minimal instruction an d controls set up.....I have been going through the Chuck manual on the Sabre and can employ rockets, guns, and am learning how to manual bomb now.

Experience wise: IL2 1946 for 13 years, was in an active squadron for about 6 years flying Corsairs. I also have been flying a Hornet mod in DCS, as well as learning the systems on the Warthog, but it's pretty overwhelming. My unit runs on Sunday nights, big scropted co-ops starring...yep, the Warthog, and I am getting there but I want to into some good old fashioned stick and rudder biz.

May I please be included?

'May I please be included'?

Hi Robert31178,

In response to your question, the answer is.... absolutely YES.

Very glad to see you have joined DCS World and appear to be having a lot of fun learning the different modules, and agree

that some can be very overwhelming.

Also, pleased to note your comment about the "good old fashioned stick & rudder" flying, because that is what

we are all about.

We love the nimbleness of the Sabre and dogfighting with gun's.

We have also worked hard to enhance this aspect of the Sabre in our missions.

That is why we have stayed at DCS World version 1.5.3.53279.

We agree with other guys on the forum that the current patches A.I. is useless for dogfights.

However, the A.I. in the version we are running is perfect for our missions.

We have been able to accomodate the better than average pilot, and perhaps more importantly, those who are very "New" to the Sabre.

We have as much fun teaching new pilots with little or no experience, as we do flying with the guys who can jump right in and fly

the main missions.

Just to expand on the "Missions" theme, we have missions that will help anyones skill level. So no-one has to feel like they will be

dropped in at the deep end.

Also, Pilots who may be apprehensive about joining a currently running server which may be set to a higher difficulty level

need not concern themselves, because the guys who fly with us on a regular basis are of the same "mindset" as us and will be very

happy to accommodate any new flyers, whatever their skill level.

In addition.... because of the version we run, if you are patched up to date, then you will not see us in the main server list. So chatting

with us first on Teamspeak in the ATAG Korean War Lobby is your best bet. (see post #1. for details).

I have the F86 module but have not yet started to use it. However, this post has given me reason to do so. Currently, I have 3 versions of DCS, the regular version, the 2.0 version and an old beta version that appears to be just taking up space. My question is: can I simply convert my beta version to your DCS World version 1.5.3.53279?

Trackir4 using the latest Trackir 5 software, Win10 Pro [Creator Update] updated from Win7Pro Pro 64Bit, Intel® Core™ i5-2500 3.30 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache LGA115 , GigaByte GA-Z68XP-UD4 Intel Z68 Chipset DDR3 16GB Ram, GTX MSI Gaming 1060 [6 GB] Video Card, Main Monitor 1 on left 1920x1080 Touchscreen Monitor 2 on right 1920x1080 .

Hi Sobe,

I'm presuming that the regular version is Open Beta 1.5? also, what version

is the 'old beta version'?

The easiest way to check is "run it up" and when asked to update, write down the version shown in the update window.
