4k

Just ordered a 28 inch 4k monitor and hoping my 1070 can run it in dcs. If you have one I'd like to hear from you.

Can do. Even a much slower GPU can push 4K @ 45-60fps at all about high. The performance killer is still some airports that just kills everything even at lowest everything.

In FullHD the GTX 1070 is a daemon, not much can stop it. After changing to ultra wide 3440x1440 monitor the higher resolution became sometimes challenging for the GPU. Especially close to the ground. I have most of the settings on high, with 4x antialiasing and visibility range set to high. 4K will most probably require going down a bit with the settings to have a good, consistent FPS.

I can attest that the 1070 is mighty nice for a single 4K display. Tried mine out (see my sig for box details) on the living room 60" 4K... very nice indeed!! I can only imagine the 1080 is even better, but the 1070 did a great job flying over Vegas with just about everything on max settings. About 40 FPS minimum when you're flying down the Strip. Excellent card for DCS and just about anything else on a single screen, even 4K. Enjoy your new monitor! (DANG those are expensive!)

Peace and happy warfare

If man was meant to fly, he would have been born with a lot more money!

Make sure you use the flat terrain shadows and the 1070 will run 4k very well. I can fly through the Las Vegas Strip with 60fps, but in the Caucasus fps dips sometimes over large cities.

Another thing, turn off anti-aliasing. You do not need it with 4k!

And for the price they are too small, imo. I use a 40" Samsung TV in 3840x2160 for DCS and I couldn't go back to a smaller display.

Agreed. I went from 27" @1440p to 42" @1080p and now running a 40" Phillips 4k monitor. I have even installed a few non-flight games on my sim pit machine just because that big 4k image is just too nice (plus it is the fastest machine in the house, atm ;) ).
