Waxer
$900 for a 10GB 3800? There will be a 16GB 6900 XT announced in October and so Nvidia will announce a 20GB 3080 for c.$1000 in October or November... It is not long to be patient. And yes, I know... there will most likely be some delays getting supplies on these products too, but still. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Supmua
At least I'm not in a real hurry to upgrade. If I don't get it the first wave then it will be 2nd or 3rd wave. Still trying to decide which card to get anyway. It seems the FE card although a step up from last iteration has more coil whine, cooling is so so, not to mention louder fan noise. Since these cards are power and thermal limited, it's the cooling system that will ultimately prevent throttling and dictate the overall peak and sustained framerate. So, AIB with superior cooler might be better than FE. I'm usually an ASUS guy but not sure I can stomach the $300 ASUS tax for the Strix version this time. Just waiting to be notified when its in stock. :D 99% chance you lose the battle to the bots. Our only hope is the 3090s are too rich for the POS scalpers blood, but those losers probably just run up credit card debt on multiple cards. After seeing the 3080 benchmarks, there just isn't enough there over the 2080ti for my liking so I am going to go the 3090 route as I think that will give it just enough of a bump to be worth it, especially with the VRAM amount since I do run in 4K. Waxer
I have 11Gb. It allocates 10GB of 11GB (if available). That does not mean it uses 10GB. There is plenty of discussion of this online. Unfortunately there is no easy way of telling how much is used until you actually run into a memory wall and your frame rates tank. I wish one of the Youtubers would do an analysis on this. It would be a popular video. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
