Nagilem
I have a mission where I would like the carrier strike group to fire on some ships as part of the mission. I can get the fire at point working, but only with cruise missiles. Any way to setup a barrage of harpoons? I see the antiship missile options under Attack group, but the group won't seem to fire. I think I may just be missing something... Any help would be greatly appreciated... :pilotfly: Specs: I9-9900k; ROG Strix RTX 2080ti; Valve Index HMD; 32GB DDR4 3200 Ram; Samsung 970 EVO 1TB SSD; TM Warthog with pedals, 3 TM MFDs
feefifofum
Are the targets within engagement distance for Harpoons? Are the ships you're trying to use armed with Harpoons? Generally, if naval groups are within firing range of one another they will start lobbing ASMs without any encouragement from you...in fact, you'll probably have to tell them to stop firing or set the hostile group to "invisible" temporarily in order to keep them from attacking. jmarso
Yeah, I've got one mission built where damn near the first thing that happens when I'm sitting on the Cat is one of my escort ships sending a harpoon downrange at enemy naval units I've got that happen to be in range. I didn't program a thing- just placed the two units in range and didn't put a 'weapons hold' ROE on the CSG.
Grimes
I'm not sure the attack group tasks works just yet with ships. Annoyingly there is no way to specify parameters to get AI to attack with their anti-ship missiles. They will do it automatically given they detect the target, are in range, and target is within launch parameters. They can be aided by AWACS in detecting ships over the horizon. What I meant about launch parameters is that ships like the Molinya have their ASM mounted forward and it can't fire them at targets behind it. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
