I'd love an H-5 . A tactical bomber would be different, and more useful than some of the strategic bombers people have been clamoring for elsewhere on this forum. H-5 is pretty flexible too, in it's usage: it can be used as a stand-in for the il-28, used by Afghanistan& Pakistan ( useful for future Afghan map), Russia (Caucasus map) ,Egypt, Iraq,& Syria (upcoming Syria map)

If we ever see a Vietnam or Korea map, h-5 or il-28 has seen use there as well

Yeah, I was thinking that - Xi'an JH-7 isn't exactly a fighter...

I rather like the idea of an Il-28 / H-5...

But if they are taking a break from Chinese aircraft there are a lot of other possibilities (Su-22 was mentioned). Note: Some Sepecat Jaguars do have an MFD...

we've decided to add a med/long ranger bomber, more navy units for China Asset Pack:

  • CV-16 AI
  • J-15 AI

[..]

If you find any other units that suitable for Mariana map, please let us know.

So if you already add J-15 and the Type 001 carrier (CV-16), you should also add Type 002 (CV-17). Not to forget some carrier aviation like: J-15D and some chopper.

I think dcs has enough flanker variants as it is, but that's just me...

A Chinese helo would be be pretty interesting, especially a carrier-borne one

I think the Tu-16 and Il-28 are great ideas because they would bring a completely new role to DCS with emphasis on the Tu-16 being my preference. All are great choices except the EE-lighting in my opinion. I know it has a die hard following so sorry to vote against it, but I just don't see it being useful enough. What ever you guys make next though I'll be sure to buy! The quality of the Jf-17 already sold you next one for me!

Il-28. Old school attack:) Can’t find a single cockpit photo. Says here the bulge is a mapping radar, wonder how that helps the pilot if there is no display? Anyone prepared for the Mosquito by having a yoke will be right at home.

While I love this plane, I can’t stop drooling about supersonic low altitude attack with Q-5!

Fantastic news, and thank you for all your efforts. Now will you consider a f-104 starfighter? :)

i would like to share my own taste.

EE lightning, Su-15, Il-28, MiG-25, Tu-16, Q-5, J-8II

It's not hint. It will be a team vote and decision not my own decision.

I like your line of thought, I would be on board with any of them. Go Cold War!

Personally I think the Tu-16 would be a very unique addition to DCS. It has the beautiful lines of the classic jet airliners.

Problem is, tu-16 is a strategic bomber....doesn't work so well for our maps which are more suited for tactical bombers. Anyway, I imagine a typical strategic bomber mission being as excited as a typical airliner in xplane as far as gameplay goes (ie just slightly more engaging than watching paint dry) . Interesting airplanes don't necessarily make good sims.

As always, that's my opinion- I understand others likely feel different. Case in point: there's a truck driving simulator, with Washington state DLC. The steam page shows gameplay of driving a truck south on I-5 out of Seattle, my exact commute. My reaction was: great, that's just what I need, after sitting in rush hour traffic I can come home, fire up the computer, and reenact that same commute again! Fun!, As awful as it sounds to me, it's sold more than a few copies

First congrats Deka for a fantastic debut into full fidelity aircraft!

Now onward to future!

I thought about what is makes sense in DCS scenario, would be interesting to fly, not already being done by others (AFAIK) and no MFCDs :) :

MiG-25 Who doesn't want to go Mach 2.8 and fire telegraph pole sized missiles?

Panavia Tornado IDS Iconic cold war attack jet for those who like to get low and fast

Saab J-35 Draken Amazing aircraft, exotic Swedish take on 2nd gen fighter interceptor

Mirage III - MiG-21 contemporary, Middle East scenarios, Falkland...

F-104 Starfighter - main NATO fighter before F-16, main antagonist to MiG-21

Su-22 Not winning any beauty contests but is an important aircraft historically

Sepecat Jaguar Not winning any beauty contests either, counterpart to Su-22

I initially thought Deka was going to make only Chinese aircraft. Nonetheless I'm happy if they are making other aircraft too.

IMO a good suggestion would be the Sepecat Jaguar (hopefully Darin II or III specs) as this is operated mainly by Indian Air Force to this day and is highly upgraded. It would make for an excellent attack aircraft plus be advanced enough to fit in a modern day scenario!

You can see the radar display right on the first photo you attached smile.gif It's the thing that looks like a big binocular you can look into.

How would an IL-28 work in DCS as a module? I mean if it were made it would be the first pure dedicated bomber in DCS wouldn't it? If it's done then do you think it could open the possibility to a B-52 in the future?

Thanks! I’m sure it calculates slant range and altitude? I wonder if it provided any kind of CCIP/CCRP, one article I read said it could be used in bad weather for blind bombing.

Also read that someone ejected 31 times so they could fly it up and put it on autopilot before “leaving” the plane so it could be used as a target drone. Target tugs would be cool for guns training
