With this upcoming new release will the dev team consider creating default DCS 2.5 graphics driver profiles or at least giving precise guidance on recommended settings to get the most out of contemporary graphics hardware?

Regards, Django.

Has there been any word on whether we can expect the new FLIR representation at 2.5 launch?

That will come at some point during the Hornet's development.

Is it possible to install 2.5 in a separate new Hard Disk?

Will i have any activation problems with my installed modules?

If I understood it correctly, 2.5 will be a new installation and some files

will be copied directly from the currently 2.X version, even if they are located in a different HD, right?

Same, I already deleted 1.5 and 2.2. I am (impatiently :D) waiting for the 2.5 to come out. I guess next week or so!

That wasn't the best thing to do as the 2.5 would copy files from 1.5, significantly reducing the download time.

With all due respect, I really don't care. It's 2.5, one of the most important updates of all time. We've been talking about the great merge since NTTR was released, having to live with two clients is very annoying, and ED knows this very well, that's why they are working hard to release 2.5.

Having to wait an extra time in order to download 2.5 doesn't mean anything to me, compared to the years that we've been waiting for the merge. :)

??? I'm just saying that you could have deleted 1.5 and 2.2 after installing 2.5 - thus saving a lot of download time.

With all due respect, it's kind of a strange rationalle to say that since the 2.5 had been prepared by ED for a long time, I'll delete existing installs at least a weak before it comes out, won't fly DCS during this time and spend unnecessary more time for downloding the install...

I hope it will be out the next Friday, now that today is not the day...

Of course it's not today, it's not the end of January!

Still funny that people thought 2.5 was going to be today. Far too early. We always have to look at the very end of the deadline estimate.

Well, it's the second half of the month!

Have you even seen ED releasing something before the very last moment of the announced time line ?:music_whistling:

Correct, and right now I know of no plans to add them to NTTR or Normandy, although I hope they change their minds on Normandy, NTTR is probably fine as is, but I wouldnt be mad if they did as well :)

Normandy is something I hope gets revisited later, the NTTR is like... Why? You don't really have trees there. But if it would improve FPS or AI logic cost somewhat, then why not, if it would even too improve the maintenance?

BUT... What is "speedtree" really as performance wise? If just having prettier random trees, then fine, but hopefully it has good impact to the performance too...
