That's correct, we made some adjustments early on due to the demand and now it's a straight fit!

Quick question about the joystick extensions mate. Do they come with a cable to interface between the grip and base? Cheers

Yes! There will be also a MongoosT-50 throttle which will be announced in all it's glory in the near future :pilotfly:

I asked this in another thread, but also curious if Virpil has any intention of designing and selling an F-15/18/Harrier grip in the future? Would be interesting with all three modules available most likely by the end of the year

Alongside the VPC MT-50, there is the VPC Desk Bracket. This bracket aims to bring a cockpit like – centre mounted stick experience to everyone. It will mount to pretty much any desk with a thickness between 2cm and 6cm. Once again as with the VPC MT-50 itself, the VPC Desk Bracket is very adjustable to suit you exactly as you need it. The height drop from the desk can be adjusted from a ~36cm drop up to a ~12cm drop.

I have a 10cm thick table edge, will this mean I won't be able to mount the MT-50?

10cm is much thicker than the VPC Desk Bracket allows unfortunately!

The MT-50 grip, extensions, desk brackets and TM mounting plates will be available when the store opens. The MT-50 base will be available in May!

Thanks for being specific!

I'm looking forward to May then :)

I'm just realizing how the MT-50 base is mounted to the desk bracket. This will not work with my Monstertech desk brackets.

Does the MT-50 base have threaded holes in its bottom (like the TM WH joystick base)?

Yes there are 4 threaded holes, one in each corner, than can be used to mount onto other brackets/setups!

In response to those curious about the stability of the VPC Desk Bracket:

Damn, that is impressively robust!

What are the extension pieces made out of. I assume my current warthog extension would work, but lighter pieces might be nicer.

Cypher, since it sounds like the throttle is still in its infancy, here are some humble suggestions. In order for me to be interested in purchasing a VPC throttle over my HW throttle, it would need:

  • No play or wiggle in the axes
  • Hall or MRS, no potentiometers
  • Metal switches, not cheap plastic ones as in the concept renders
  • Switches make one press per direction (no "release" actions, please!)
  • A simple metal base, the "brushed" look in the render is cheesy
  • Replace the single red thumb button on the throttle with another two or four-way hat... I seriously think no HOTAS sold should feature less button combinations than the HOTAS Warthog. Matching the high functionality of it and similar Western HOTAS should ensure that no aircraft is "left behind" by your hardware
  • A pinky switch for master lights control (found in nearly all western fighters and jet trainers)

I'm not a big fan of the square plastic buttons, but I understand this is just an Eastern design convention and makes sense when using the T-50 HOTAS as a template.

I own the TM WH throttle and it's not bad. What I don't like:

1. the switches forward from the RH throttle lever are difficult to find/access.

2. The slew control is difficult to use when you need accuracy and speed.

3. The thing is awfully heavy. Probably good when it's just sitting on top of your desk, but a nuisance when you put it on desk brackets. For people who want it heavy, you might use optional steel plates as "ballast".

4. Lack of pushbuttons and toggle switches in the base (I have bought a FLT2 button box from DSD to fill the gap).

What I would like:

More axis controls in the base.

A challenge: make the throttle so that, between the T-50 and the future throttle, you can fly the AJS37 Viggen with all its weapon and sensor systems incl. Radar Stick and RB05 Stick.
