Better GPU cooling solution?

I currently have my EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 set up like this:

What do you think? My philosophy, when it comes to putting my dingus on my wife's chopping block by re-mortgaging the house for computer parts (not really, BTW), is that I'd might as well go the whole 9 yards and do it up right, if it's something that will yield results. Of course, that means using a waterblock on the CPU as well, replacing the Corsair H100i currently on it, so I'm wondering if that's also a worthwhile move? Thanks !

Is the EVGA FTW3 a Founders Edition layout or custom PCB by EVGA ?

If it is a custom design you CAN NOT use standard ( and most are ! ) cooling blocks for a 1080ti as they are made for FOUNDERS EDITION layout. They will NOT mount on the pcb, do not even try.

I doubt that the card you have is a FE, rather a custom EVGA design.

In that case, you must make sure that the coolblock you intend to buy

absolutely and ONLY fits your custom designed PCB, no doubt and no BS.

If you have a FE card after all, I would get the best block there is and that is defo not EVGA's. If you want to get the best cooling possible and also at a better price than most of it's competitor's, take the watercool 1080ti block. It was tested at [H]ard|OCP with outstanding results and iirc even Editor's Choice. You really gotta earn that one.

If you get a waterblock pr gpu block, look watercool.de , imho one of the best blocks you can buy and also fair priced for what you get.

NVMe cooler, yeah, that is indeed a needed thing. Most boards tho have coolers built into the PCH cooling solution or a separate aluminium lid between two PCIe slots. There is no need for extra coolers with your board.

VRAM Heatsinks.. yeah...but not that kind.

Either leave the VRM on the mobo as they are or check if you can get a VRM coolblock from watercool or any other and hook it up in your loop.

I have the two top 140mm fans facing down, blowing cold air over VRM and RAM all the time. If there was a VRM kit for my board I'd get it. I have one but the blocks dont fit this board.

The H100i is a nice AIO but when you comaore it to a full Custom Loop with much more radiator surface it will fall behind. Tho I doubt this will make any difference for your 8700k/5G or even 5.2G DCS overclock. Unless you really intend to encode videos for hours and hours on a daily basis that cooler is OK for DCS.

The difference is, yours can digest 200w at max fan rpm, a nice DIY radiator can swallow 200w w/o fan, just by mass and size. So the noise is real deal here, DIY loops can be very very quiet even when stressed, like mine, but an AIO is loud, no doubt.

If I would not have my external MoRa3 rad i would have a bigger tower and 3 x 3x120 or equivalent to reduce fan noise. The more radiator surface the better.

I hope you realize going this way you will need to build / install a water loop and if you are going down this route with all that work, you may as well cool the CPU too and throw out the Corsair H100i AIO.

I went with the water block for the 1080 founders edition. It would not fit a Ti and yes it does require an extensive installation. As pictured is not the final install but serviceable at the time.
