What happened with the FPS in the Hornet 1989 : Taskforce Challenger Campaign?

You are kidding me: From stable 40 FPS on the stennis with my Rift S to 28 FPS with the 2.5.6 Version, sometimes only 20 FPS.

Same Hardware, same Settings, same Campaign, same Mission:

It's interesting in the simple carrier takeoff training missions the Impact is not as high as in the Campaign.

The 3rd is the caucasus training takeoff Mission and the 4th is the gulf training takeoff.

What is also intresting, that i can't see the Oculus Layer Info with Version 2.5.6. That's where you can check if the pixeldensity was set correct. Usually the menu is projected in the Headset in front of the ingame graphics :helpsmilie:

Yep can't see OculusTrayTool hud info in game.

For me 2.5.6 is a stutterfest in comparison with 2.5.5. Same settings. Unplayable in VR.

Hmm try deleting your FXO and MetaShaders 2 folders in your user/username/SavedGames/DCSOB folder and see if that helps. It has done wonders in the past.

 

Already done; I do this after every update

Massive fps hit. Marginal system

Intel Core i7 3630QM @ 2.40GHz ( Max Turbo Frequency 3.40 GHz)

16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz

2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M

447GB KINGSTON SA400S37480G (SATA-2 (SSD))

Still it was playable in 1920x1080. Now single digits as often as not.

Best advice is to remove all unofficial mods run a cleanup and repair or verify for steam users.

 

Delete your metashader2 and fxo folder from your dcs folder in saved games and then restart DCS.

 

If you still have problems attach your dcs log and we will take a look.

Shaders already deleted multiple times, no mods installed, already ran a repair……..:helpsmilie:

 

Performance is really poor! Can't see Oculus HUD anymore. There must be a serious Problem with the update

If I take off and circle arraound the Stennis the FPS always get very low, if the Stennis gets in sight. So there must be a problem with the Stennis since the update

Unfortunately there are still huge FPS drop (at least 25-30) , even when i deleted fxo and metashader2 forders and done repair. Same settings.

I hope ED will optimize performance, because DCS is almost unplayable at this level. :(

I have missions, where FPS is 6-7 (was 40-50 before the update).

Did the Job for me at least with HP Reverb. Fps are back to normal but i experience an invrease of Gpu frametimes, but still playable with mostly stable 45 Fps.

 

System is a ryzen 3600x with gtx 1080. msaa off. Slrr off, water textures to Medium and shadows flat only.

Played a mission from Stennis, and my server crashed. I took Stennis out and it worked fine. Have not had a chance to look into logs etc, but I run my server on a hidden install on my wife's PC, and she went nuts at the time the crash happened, all her 20+ browsers windows went white and were frozen plus she lost lives her shitty click bait games lol (these have never caused any issues previoulsy). TF DCS was not in the list of running applications when I told her to go Task manager. I am guessing a memory leak, as DCS completely died?

Framerates still shitty in the F18. Instant Mission with many AI Units still low 20's. Campaign Arab Spring Mission 2 13 FPS. Unplayable!!!

After the 2.5.6 update, multiplayer with the F-18 on the Nevada map has been horrible. Drop in FPS!

Why doesn't ED solve the problem right away? It has been repeatedly reported on this forum ...

Same issue poor vr performance after update

 

Im having the same performance drop in vr after the update. Drops to 20 and below on ground and 25 to 30 max up in the air. This is in the f18 however using the f18 in normandy gives me good fps cauc or nevada even with not alot going on gives me very low fps. My system is mediocre i7 3770 oc to 4.1ghz 24gb ddr3 gtx 1080 gamerock edition but i never had issues before this update. Some missions are now unplayable in vr. I hope this is addressed i have tried lowering settings and it has 0 effect no matter how low I go I was running medium to high before this without issues.
