Default Don't understand why you're making a single engine Cobra

Why aren't you making the W? With two engines at least we'd have some performance, plus night capability with a halfway decent FLIR (the Hind, and Hellfire would be relevant to the last 30 years or so.

All combat aircraft are classified to a certain extent. The F/A-18C still has many classified systems but we still got one. It's more about whether they can get the right information on the rest of the stuff. The W is a fairly old bird, same era as the legacy Hornet.

+1 to OP, I will not be buying the S, I was really excited when I thought we were going to eventually get a whiskey cobra. I too wanted twin engines, relatively modern sensors and systems and a Hellfire shooter.

I would suspect also that this is by-and-large dictated by the source material available, otherwise instead of a simulation you'd have some rough approximation, I'm not here for crude interpretations of aircraft. A W would be nice though.

Surely BSK has make as the UH-1H, talk to making wiht Bell Trexton a AH-1, and that has authorised that version.

Huey, cobra S model, F4, F5 etc. All points towards a Vietnam map to me.

Sure the cobra isn’t modern but damn, I’m happy to take it.

I second that. While we all like the bells and whistles of the more modern aircraft, I'm more interested in the more era specific (early to mid Vietnam) and would be VERY happy with even a G or J model.

You've got a good point there. While I also would prefer a more modern Cobra in general, I would love to have a fledged out Vietnam theatre in DCS
