Rosebud47
Anyone else having problems in F-14 RIO seat? Since this 70 MB SteamVR patch/since last DCS patch I have this weird cursor issue in cockpit where mouse won't move unless I fool the internal brightness sensor... super weird. (fooling it by placing it on top of my head, so it senses darkness, then on desktop LAlt+Y/Z for selecting mouse, then switching to DCS, then carefully sliding VR headset to eyes so that brightness sensor only detects darkness) Can tell from the Samsung Odyssey+ Windows Mixed Reality HMD, that it got a sensor inside between the lenses, which recognizes, if you wear the headset and looking through the lenses of it or if you don´t wear it and look on to the screen/monitor. You could check by covering the proximity sensor with your finger inside between the lenses. Every time the HMD/ proximity sensor recognizes, that you wear the headset, it locks/blocks the screen on to your monitor. This locking/blocking of the screen could be turned off by pressing "windows button" + "y" on the keyboard ( or "windows button" + "z" with english keyboard layout ). When the screen is locked, only the program window in the foreground of your desktop is active for the VR headset, which is a bit irritating, while having in the VR headset only the the picture ( program window ) of DCS. The point is, that the mouse cursor in VR then only works with the one active window in the foreground. When putting on the windows mixed reality headset, make sure by pressing Alt + tab to have the DCS window in the foreground of your desktop, to have the mouse cursor locked in this window to have the mouse working in VR. Nealius
Why would you even use controllers in DCS ? o_O don't you have HOTAS? HOTAS and mouse can't reset my view. Every single time I start up DCS/Steam VR my view is up in the ceiling and 90 degrees off. I have to use the controllers to go into Steam VR settings, recenter my view, then return to DCS. Every goddamn time. Then I set the controller aside, fly around, then hear the controller vibrate, the Windows device disconnect sound, and "TrackIR device has been disconnected" message when they "sleep." Rosebud47
Have bind the VR center button as well on the HOTAS. It could be found in the DCS System configuration menu. At the pull down menu, where you select your flight module to configure, there´s the option for GUI Layer - there the VR center button as well as VR zoom could be configured. Nealius
Just bound it, but now my VR is suddenly acting up. I'm frequently getting kicked into the SteamVR grey-room for a couple seconds at a time mid-flight, my mouse decided it doesn't want to work in DCS at all despite a) mouse being enabled in DCS settings, b) DCS running full screen, and c) pressing Win+Y. Everything was working fine two days ago, and the only thing I changed between then and now is adding that recenter command.
Quekel
Got the odeyssey and love it! The reprojection tweak helped alot. just a few more questions. - WMR and SteamVr are both running, is it possible to disable them for performance? - Are there other tweaks available? - Some important settings that are needed? - Win + Y , cant seem to use my mouse. D4n
As I explained, was temporary SteamVR problem (or Windows Mixed Reality). Had this issue a 2nd time now (randomly), if happening again, I will test SteamVR beta or developer build (if that's what it's called). If same issues there, I will try to find out if there's a way to revert to SteamVR version from mid-march. Eaglewings
Hello fellows. The Samsung Odyssey plus price right now is looking very tempting at $299. Wanting to make a move for it but the HP reverb and the Oculus rift S holding my hand down. Looks like the HP reverb would require a system upgrade as current system does not minimum specs. Do not really want to experience buyer remorse when those expected HMD launches and are better I wanted to be setup for the upcoming improvements for dcs VR. Is it worth making the move? sze5003
Yeah, the HP reverb is really looking promising. If eventually rtx 2080, that would be $699. And that is if you have a power supply that is sufficient. I bought the Odyssey+ when it was on sale 2 months ago. $200 of the regular price I must get it. In the end, I bought a new GPU RTX2070 and 750W PSU and spent $1,000 in total with the HMD. I do love flying in VR it was just not as inexpensive as I thought. sze5003
The only thing that slightly concerns me about the reverb is no physical ipd adjustment. I don't know what mine is on my Odyssey as I usually set it once and that's it. I think it's somewhere between 63-65. I'd be curious in going to the Microsoft store and trying out the reverb to see if it affects me. As I only use these headsets for DCS it would be annoying to not be able to find the best spot for clarity.
