sLYFa
The KA-52 would be exactly the same as KA-50, except you have a second pilot to do other things like navigation, targeting and communication. Yeah, completely the same aircraft https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamow_Ka-52#/media/Datei:Russian_Air_Force_Kamov_Ka-52_cockpit_(19623355742).jpg MFDs, FLIR, Radar, Ataka Missiles, all not worth mentioning Meaning you are less stressed in it than Hornet pilot is in C because that helicopter flies itself if wanted. The F-18 can also fly by itself if the pilot wishes to, but that doesn't even matter since that comparison is nonsense anyway. ZHeN
first of all Ka-52 is able to do night ops, since it's got fully capable 360° FLIR, which includes IR-channel then of course, RADAR, DIRCM, MAWS, LWR, RWR, new datalink, Iglas, Vikhrs II + Atakas it's nowhere near Ka-50 in terms of avionics [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sublime
Sublime, I can virtually guarantee you're misusing the trim and autopilot modes if it's harming your performance =) Just prior to takeoff I engage the primary modes (except heading hold) and never touch them again. Heading hold can be slightly helpful during hover or takeoff. I sometimes use autohover to assist in maintaining a stable hover, but that's on a pinky switch on/off. You shouldn't be ''managing'' anything. That's the whole point of the systems. The Ka-50s ap channels serve much the same function as the Flankers FCS. Yes, you can fly without it, but without anything to dampen control movements it makes the aircraft twitchy and over responsive. You turn them on, then leave them alone. For trim, make sure in the Ka-50's option tab you set it to where you click the trim button and it holds until you return the stick to neutral. This eliminates the erratic behavior, and is what it should be set to if you're not using a real cyclic/collective setup. The Ka-50 is by far the easiest to fly and most idiot proof of the helos available thus far, if it's not it's 100% because the person doesn't understand the controls. I fought it a lot in the early days, too, but once I figured it out... I can fly it blindfolded. Thanks, but mind you sir, Ive literally not flown the KA50 in years now. Its nothing I can say is holding my performance as its been so long. I vaguely remember it being difficult to fly and keep SA, and also not have the rotors hit eachother etc. I remember her being fast and vikhrs working well. But remember this was a few years ago and the ground forces sucked more and I quickly tired of jsut hovering and shooting vikhrs beyond stand off. I didnt progress to more advanced stuff than that - that was the best I could do - ha ha. Im too swamped to dl the KA50 now though. I honestly am. Im in AG51 and RIO a f14 sometimes stick one; Im flying the excellent Hunters/Yalu campaign for the F86 now; I got the JF17 and am in love with it. Frankly the hinds is the only new module for me thats announced right now.
sublime
The KA-52 would be exactly the same as KA-50, except you have a second pilot to do other things like navigation, targeting and communication. KA-50 is like a F/A-18C KA-52 is like a F/A-18D The beauty of KA-50 is that it allows you to focus one task at the time well, while automation does others. Meaning you are less stressed in it than Hornet pilot is in C because that helicopter flies itself if wanted. ok and thats cool but I was never saying either was better. I said *what I thought I liked better personally and aesthetically at that*. I def didnt mention F18s, Im a F14 guy thank you very much. While what you say may be true; you dont seem to understand my point. You arent going to *make* me like a module. I never said "Ka50s suck" I said I personally didnt like ka50 of *all* the modules. Oh well. I didnt say " I demand my money back! " or anything ridiculous. I dont care if the AP channels allow me to psychically control death drones; I just know I want to fly the mi24, and not the KA50. and until the Mi24, I probably will stick with the already somewhat overwhelming list of planes I end of flying (f14, uh1, Jf17, f86, f5,)

Silver_Dragon
Someone remember them? BSK was working on 2017, before Jester on a AI Crew logic.... Mi-24P update: 3D model is not at the state when we are ready to flash it to tease you yet. We've finished modelling of hover, takeoff and general performance in the air of this helicopter. Currently team is working on Mi-24P crew AI. Mi-24P crew AI will be available as pilot or as gunner. We are aiming to implement control over AI functionality with help of AI GUI which will allow you to use only 4 buttons to give AI specific commands regarding: Heading Speed ALtitude Maneuvers Hover menu Target choice Also we are working on AI crew targets detection logic. It will not be just all-seeing AI copilot/gunner, as you can see on pics below, AI behaviour will not be simplistic and during spotting its being modelled to mimic real pilots training logic for spotting targets. Things like distance, angle and illumination will be taken into account among many others. 1st pic. Dependencies check 2nd pic. Angles scheme 3rd pic. Experimental data analysis 4th pic. Fenice59
2) Esistono "Piloti Femminili" in DCS World. I dont have much to say besides I really really hope political correctness or worrying about what sex the pilot is doesnt get involved in any way shape or form in the development of the mi24 module. Theres literally almost anything else I can name in the world thats more important to flights sims than bringing up female discrimination and spending time adressing it because political correctness. I do lean more towards liking the idea of variety, and especially with the radio; but I couldnt and still have trouble overcoming the negative emotions your suggestion evoked when you brought up sexual discrimination...

The thing is I dont think these companies look at DCS quite like we do. We see it as one sim, I think they all see themselves as seperate entities and I hardly think HB will just share Jester code without some financial arrangement. In the end they are businesses. Thats also why they cant just take Jester and build on Jester, which if you think about it would be the most expedient method - altering the already existing jester and building on him for the mi24 from the getgo. it would have been a hell of a pedestal, Im not quite sure it works like that though. sublime
ED dont need altering Jester with they has builing your own AI crew some years ago. They has talked some time ago do not like "depend" from 3rd party sofware, preferd build own core software (ex. Radio Comunications, Dynamic RTS Campaign, etc). ok which makes sense. sort of. ED then needs to make up its mind - are the developers part of DCS and allies , or are they mere guests in our world?? See the fact is this, this isnt about being reliant - this isnt oil or coal. its a code. They simply ask or buy Jester from HB and build on it. Why not??? The Chinese copy foreign tech all the time. We and the Russians stole Nazi scientests. Just because the owners changed the results didnt! HB whether anyone likes it or not did what NO ONE else has done. They made a *FUNCTIONAL* co pilot. It seems *INSANE* that ED wouldnt Build or at least heavily interact with HB about 'lessons learned' I understand again, not being dependent, but ffs this isnt geopolitics or war. HB is a company sellng DCS products. These statements confuse me - exactly what are these 3rd party companies to ED then? Maybe it was translationn but your explanation made it sound like basically those parties are seen as *Rivals* by ED. And if thats the casee Im VERY upset with ED because we were imminently supposed to get the Forrestal for the F14 and the SC came out and suddenly Forrestal mysteriously was delayed and now never has come out. say what you will, Im CERTAIN ED told HB "Dont release that youll mess up our sales wait at least" and waiting turned into never or REALLY LATE. Weta43
2 things to considered: 1/ That maybe having looked at it maybe E.D. (while recognising that it's better than what we have now,) feel the architecture of Jester isn't structured in a way that makes it suitable to serve as a starting point for their long term goals. 2/ If they've been developing their own A.I. in conjunction with their plans for the dynamic campaign/RTS engine, it may be more work to re-start that integration with Jester than to simply finish what they've started. Asking for Jester may look to E.D. like giving pain killers and an Elastoplast to someone with a broken arm. - It might make them feel better right now, but it doesn't fix the underlying problem. Salsam
Got me thinking... What's the standoff range of the ATGMs on the Hind? As I understand it, the Mi-24 version, we're getting in DCS, doesn't come with a laserrangefinder (?), won't it be hard to use it at longer ranges? Lucas_From_Hell
Maximum range is around 6 to 7km depending on the source and missile model. The periscope has good magnification so you'll be able to aim.

The range issue, as in whether theyre in range or not, is a good question
