Was sth wrong with it?

In VR it was often the size of penny at arms length (waaay to small, by probably a factor of 5-10x). Plus it was barely bright enough.

Yeah, this is a not a "smooth" release. Probably the worst I've seen in my time here. Hopefully they get it sorted out.

  • We just fixed a major last-minute bug (A bug that will upset the large group of players specialized in landing Mig-21 inverted on a carrier), and we would want it in the release -> OK, stop the release -> merge the fix -> build -> test -> ..

I thought everyone knew that was a unique feature of the

If you restart Steam it will revert Open Beta to 2.5.5.41962

I was 3 hrs into the download and restarting Steam, cancelled the new Open Beta update, keeping my Steam install on 2.5.5.41962

I downloaded and ran the 2.6 update. Kaspersky Total Security deleted some files so I did a repair and VHO:hacktool.win32.inject.gen is once again in my open beta\bin\worldgeneral.dll folder.

Sorry for the cross post.

Same. Not sure what to do.

Is anybody else running Kaspersky and not having this flagged as a virus?

You need to step outside at night with a penny sometime.

IDK, I do some amateur astronomy and the moon always looked wrong in DCS VR to me (way too small).

I don't run VR but I'd be surprised if the moon is the a different size than on a regular display. You probably just fly with a relatively wide-angle FOV.

It should be roughly the same size as the sun.

Yes it is and both are too small in VR. I think there are some weird scaling things for VR. At any rate, its not like a "major" problem, just annoying.

There's no issues with my steam version.

Are you on 2.5.5 or 2.5.6? They canceled 2.5.6 for steam till they got it sorted.

worst update I've ever seen

2.5.6 .... what a load of junk!!!!

It's totally broken my install.

Startup time has quadrupled and it immediatly hangs upon getting to the title screen. Task manager reports the process is suspended. Tried repair and cleanup...didn't fix anything.

Did ED even do any testing on this before they pushed it out the door? I see loads of issues with steam users, missing dll files and crashes on startup.

How do I even roll back to the previous version, which was at least stable?

Anyone else play with the new SSLR option yet? Looks like it improves the lighting in some ways. Kills VR performance however.

I seem to be getting the same performance, did a quick free flight in the A10c on PG and getting a steady 45 in VR. I did turn on SSLR to see what it did and took a 33% hit on FPS down to 30. I also did a free flight in the HUEY on Caucuasus and a train in the distance looked funny. I closed my right eye and it disappeared closed my left eye and it was back again. The world did seem to be a lot clearer and brighter so I am happy with the new 2.5.6.

I have noticed it takes a lot longer to start up, and Task manager saying DCS is not responding, just wait it out and it starts OK.

Thanks. Didn't find anything in there..

I submitted the file to Kaspersky's Virtual VirusDesk and there scan found no threats. So, I added it to my AV Exclusions and will hope for the best.

I always have a Monthly and Weekly System backup anyhow, so if something goes wrong I'm probably ok.

It's up and running fine now.

Cheers!

Exact same problem! I deleted the download folder and am actually retrying. Lasts a decade today to get it dowloaded.

Edit: Switched off Kaspersky for now!
