Help with Mission 8.6

*Spoiler Alert - Read no further if you haven't done 8.6 *

 

Can someone help me with 8.6 please - the one where you need to defend and pick up crew from a grounded helicopter. I get to the site, take out the advancing trucks and troops, and nothing happens. I fly back and land and don't get Mission Complete. I try again and destroy the grounded helo as well and the result is the same. Is there a trigger here I'm not triggering? A timer to take out the enemy troops perhaps?

Had the same issue.

Heli lands, troops run over to the chinook and heli does not take off again.

I quick tested 8.6 for both the MiG and F-86. It's a problem with both! I'll be passing this up the chain, as I have no idea why it would be doing this. Thank you for the report. I would hate for you to skip ahead to the next mission, as the briefing will spoil the end of 8.6 ... but there's nothing that can really be done. The trigger's sequence after the Rescue helicopter takes off again, but instead, it's just shutting down on the ground.

Are you sure? I've tried this mission 4 times and nothing happens after "take them out!". Its possible I can't find some of the infantry if you need to kill the whole group but I'm fairly certain I get them all. After running out of ammo on my first attempt I started bringing rockets, is it possible that's doing anything to mess up the triggers?

Update, I flew this today for the Mig, the triggers and mission ending all appeared to work as described in this thread. On open beta.

Checked the mission, and the Mi-8 for the MiG-15 campaign does NOT lift off. It does for the F-86 campaign though. This was quite odd as the triggers and sequences are the exact same for both campaigns.

After shifting a few of the spawn locations, triggers, and the landing spot for the Mi-8 a meter or so, the helo now takes off again. So it's fixed internally and will make it's way out in the next patch.

MiG-15, 2.5 open beta

Happened to me today, twice.

Eradicated everything in the area, but the helo didn't want to lift off.

 

Surprisingly, on my third try it worked:

 

 

Not sure if it's important, but this time I stayed behind the helicopters all the time.

I ignored the initial targets (HMMVC), and only killed backup trucks & infantry that spawned later (well, most of them - but I did it fast).

A couple minutes after the "crew is on board" signal, they blew the downed chopper and finally departed.

Man, and I thought the last fix was I did was going to take care of that for good. I'll have to come up with a fail safe or something. Thanks for the report, and sorry some of these issues.

Hi @Apache600, unfortunately this seems to be an issue with the latest beta, flying the MiG. Same as reported, the helicopter never takes off. I got all of the ground units, no luck!

There are now F10 radio menu options to force the helo to take off. When it lands, there's a timer that starts, and if the game detects the helo has not lifted off in a certain amount of time, the radio menu will be made available allowing the player to force it off the ground.

The timer trigger do you refer, is included in the last openbeta? what is? I was loitering yesterday even returning to my base, I didn´t seen any F10 radio optioms. Pleae, do you could attach the miz file to replace it?

I'll be giving it a test when I get home (out on a work trip and only on a laptop). I took another close look at my trigger set up the other day, and didn't find a discrepancy. Not saying one doesn't exist, I just didn't see it.

Hi Apache600,

 

I can confirm the issue reported above (on the latest beta in the MiG) - the helo does not take off even if all ground units are gone. The friendly does not shoot the broken helo (out of ammo?) and if I do it, nothing changes. The F10 radio command never appears.

 

Thanks for looking into it. For the time being I just used the auto-success and am moving on.

EDIT: For the record, I tried 5x and never got a radio message from the Rescue 1 as is heard on 4:17 or 5:54 in the video linked above (and again here below for your convenience):
