Upgrading 2.5 to 2.5.2

Recommended Posts

Hate to ask a question like this but could not find answer with search.

I am on DCS 2.5.0 but understand 2.5.2 is available as of a couple of dats ago. I thought my 2.5 would upgrade automatically, as usual, but it does not. If I run the updater stand-alone it says my DCS World us up to date. Have I misunderstood the release date or is a manual upgrade now required?

Best wishes - JH

2.5.0 is the release build and is up to date. 2.5.2 is the Open Beta build intended as a pre-release for testing before it is pushed to the release build.

DCS has made it easy to swap from either version, so much so, that many will just update to Open Beta and deal with the new bugs so they can get access to the new things sooner.

This link here shows how to do so:

To make things a bit more confusing, apparently they released the Open Beta build for Steam users, so they got the upgrade to "Release" early.

Much thanks. Looks like best to wait awhile in my case.

AFAIK the Steam 'release' branch is still on 2.5.0, the same as DCS World standalone.

'DCS World Steam Edition' supports multiple 'branches' by opting into one of the betas, currently there are 5 to choose from including the Persian Gulf/Hornet 2.5.2 Open Beta

Ah, ok, thanks! The way things were worded, I thought the standard release was upgraded to 2.5.2 for Steam Users. My apologies for passing on bad info.
