The Alt Flap switch allows manual trailing edge flap engagement rather than the automatic schedule. You would use this if you had a flap failure with asymmetric flap settings. Completely wrong! "The ALT FLAPS switch allows manual trailing edge flap engagement only in case the LG handle cannot be lowered. Above a certain airspeed, TEF will rise regardless of this switch position". Once complete and successful, the light turns off and the switch snaps back to center BIT switch has no center position. It is the OFF position. It opens or closes the main fuel shutoff valve. This is normally guarded to the on position. There is no ON position. It is the MASTER position. Except the landing\taxi lights. To the right of this is the Master Covert knob that has positions for external lights overt and convert modes for night vision. "convert" shuld be "covert". Exactly the opposite. According to -1: The switch controls the light intensity of all the warning, caution, and indicator lights except the following individually dimmed lights: AOA indexer. For example: if the nose wants to raise, you can input some nose down trim that will move the neutral point forward to a new position. This relieves you from maintaining continuous pressure on the stick to maintain level flight when out of trim. This is done electronically by the FLCS.
