Where did all the updates go???

Apologies if I have missed this in another thread (though I have looked honest :)).

But does anyone know what happened to the game updates? They had moved to Wednesdays had they not? There hasn't been one since the 14th.

Yes I understand that... I was actually only referring to 2.5, as in the last 2 weeks hasn't seen any updates for it, sorry if I didn't make that clear.

Some Bugs take longer to fix and test than others.

Simply put, 2.5 turned out to be more buggy than expected by the devs, so the next patch is "done when it's done".

As for the Wednesdays thing, well, that was the initial plan indeed, but it kind of fell on its face and we've got 50/50 Wednesdays and Fridays updates.

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Thanks for the answers and I understand the issues with 2.5.

However I was actually more interested in other module updates. I'm just flying the Harrier and as an early access module it has many missing features, I was hoping to see more regular updates as these systems come on line.

I know patience is a virtue but sometimes that's easier said than done! :D

A few years on, I’m still hoping for some basic AI fixes. F15 wingman taking off with 50% performance than your own plane, but twice the performance once catching you up in the air. You land and struggle to stop the aircraft on the runway available, the AI land and stop about 100m after touchdown! Flying in cruise at Mach .9, the AI has a 20 deg angle of attack?? AI turn without banking...all these basic bugs from 10 years ago. The AI in digital integration Tornado in the 80s flew more realistically.

if they dont have a fix worth putting out yet... they dont have a fix worth putting out.

sometimes you just have to wait until the entire goose is done cooking.

This unfortunately is the problem with the way DCS is patched since the beginning. They need to update the core game to push the updates made to the modules, even if those have been ready for weeks.

Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil T-50CM, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro

What surprises me is that surely there must be a whole stack of small bug fixes ready to go, but we seem to have to wait on the memory leak issue being fixed before anything else is released.

Its beta, Always 1.5.8.......

Sorry, but not sure how the fact that it's beta - which we all know - has any effect on the regularity of updates. In some ways, as it is beta, one would expect there to be more rather than less updates.

I just hope that the memory issues that will befixed also will lessen the amount of RAM / VRAM used.

Right now (And all through the variuos 2.x versions) the memory usage is extremly high for no apperent reason.

Other flightsims with greater geographical coverage and graphical fidelity do not require even close to as much RAM / VRAM as DCS 2.x.

This blows. Especially for people like me who Don't have better things to do with our time.

I haven't been able to fly for 2 weeks now.

On the other hand, I'd rather have Update Patches that actually fix more than they break, so I can and will wait as long as it takes.

We’re still in beta, and that’s all there is to it, regardless of how much we might want a fix

The team are working very hard at the moment, so don't let the lack of an update this week fool you.

We have some big issues being worked on and they can not be rushed.

thanks

Good to hear and I do appreciate all their efforts.

Someone mentioned earlier that other modules can not be updated until ED release a main patch, is that correct? (In other words, will we have to wait until these larger problems are fixed before we can expect any other modules to get fixes or updates?).

Thanks.

Correct, ED is the publisher, they release the updates. Usually on a Wednesday or a Friday.
