Default carrier speed for flight ops?

Title says it all. To build consistency for carrier landings, how fast should the carrier be set to provide wind over the deck, in no wind conditions? Thanks.

20 - 30 knots is the standard I recall, and dont forget to factor the wind speed and direction into account

The boat needs to be balls out for the overhead to work out. In DCS this is about 29 kt.

@Paco

I wouldn't set carrier speed above 15 knots if I were you, DCS doesn't like it when carriers speed up... carrier-based units start falling off the deck when that happens.

Aren't you supposed to get about 25 knots of wind total over the deck? I usually point the carrier into the wind and calculate the boat speed plus wind speed so it equals 25 knots and it works well.

I always thought that the magic number was 31 knots.

You can set it to whatever you want. The boats seems to top out at 29kt. At that speed you can still shoot the case 1 and have all the numbers work out.
