HP's Reverb VR Pro Headset

To me it happens everywhere. I'm not sure how running the setup again would reset this..
Only time I experienced this was with the odyssey and rift CV1 and that was because they have an adjustable lense dial which moved lenses further away or closer to each other and I had it set wrong. That's what it sounds like from your description but more software related since reverb doesn't have adjustable ipd.

Has anyone managed to extend the Reverb? I need to extend the cable by 10ft - anyone have extensions that they know work?

I have tried a couple of different extensions for my Reverb. The 10 foot extension I tried didn't work at all. The 6 foot extension I tried sorta worked, but it wasn't reliable. Its one of the major drawbacks to this new DisplayPort stuff. I have seen DP in-line amplifiers on Amazon, but at $90.00, its not exactly something you can try just for the hell of it to see if it works.

So I probably shouldn't expect an answer either:)

I thought it might have to do with the IPD, but that software IPD setting seems to be completely useless.

BTW, I assume this doesn't happen only in DCS, right?

PS: I'm not sure how it helps you not being the only one with the issue :)

Well, more the case that it helps my sanity as it proves my mind wasn't seeing things that aren't there :)

Reverb stuck at 60 fps

Hi guys....weird thing just happened. Although Motion Reprojection is enabled I get 60 fps in DCS.

Indicator shows green meaning the Reverb reaches its native fps. But that should be 90.

Up to now I have always had either 90 or 45 fps.

I uninstalled and re-installedd both Staem VR and WMR for Steam VR but no result.

Anyone else having this issue?

I remember one review on YouTube. I think it was ACG who mentioned the amazon basics extension cable worked. But I suppose it depends on what you're doing and what application or game you want to run in VR.

For the $90 adapter I suppose you could order it if you have Amazon prime and return it if it does not work for you. Amazon returns are no hassle.

Those of you that ordered direct from HP, how long did it take to get the headset? Website from US says ships in 1 business day. The order status page says I should get it by Oct 14th..kind of a while for 3 business days shipping.

Same for me. I also ordered it from the German HP store, got an estimated delivery date sometime mid October, but delivery time in the end was two business days.

Well that's good to hear. A buddy of mine ordered from best buy and he should get his Wednesday. I hope he gets one of the latest models and doesn't have any issues.

I was having a little issue with my Reverb every once in the while after leaving DCS and trying to restart the sim the Reverb would show something like static in both lenses. The best way to get it to stop was to just reset the PC. I was powering the headset with a Inateck 7 port PCIe card with 2 other devices plug in to it. I found out that card has only 1 usb controller for all 7 usb slots. I purchased a StarTech.com 4 Port PCIe card with 4 usb controllers the card is a little pricey but I have not had a problem since. Figured I'd just pass the info on.

Yea I had to do same with the rift and my Odyssey. The innatek card is sitting in the closet now. It caused lots of instability issues with my PC after I installed it. The startek one has individual busses for full bandwidth.

Although I don't think I want to plug the reverb that's coming into it with all the USB issues people have been talking about. I may just use my powered USB 3.0 hub if the cable reaches up to the desk.

Hi guys,

Posted this somewhere else but this se seems to be the right place...

I'm heavily thinking about the reverb or the rift s. Currently I havea CV1 and GTX 970, i7 2600k @4.5 GHz.

I was wondering if a 2070 super is powerful enough for the reverb. I'll get a i7 9700k and a new motherboard of course.

My current system is not powerful enough for VR in the first place so my CV1 always struggled to give a good performance.

I want to get a 2070 super and a reverb or a 2070 super and a rift S.

A 2080ti is too expensive for me.

So, could a 2070 do the trick with the reverb if I turn down some sliders??

Thanks a lot!!

Static is an indicator of cable failure. try bending the cable near the connection point it will likely get better or worse, but I'd contact HP about a replacement.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

A couple of comments from me.

On the CPU, I would recommend the 8700K over the 9700K as it costs about the same, has hyper threading, and pretty much the same single core performance.

The 9900K is about £150 more, and when I had one, I saw very little difference in DCS compared to the 8700K.

Regarding HMDs, I have never tried the Rift S, but I have owned the Reverb and felt it was only superior to the Index in one respect only, and that is NATIVE resolution. In all other ways - build quality, audio quality, comfort, no WMR, etc. - it was not as good as the Index, so I sent it back, and I love the Index. Even the resolution advantage was reduced by SteamVR Supersampling.

I have owned a CV1 and a Vive Pro in the past, and the Index and Reverb are a considerable step up.

Regarding the GPU, the 2070 SUPER seems like a good bet as it has similar performance to the 1080Ti and costs about the same. You would be fine with that GPU and any of the current HMDs.

Not a decision you want to make off forum advice, Contact Samsung.

Given the reported issues this is not an HMD I would forfeit a warranty over to save a couple dollars.

I would not buy this headset used. Only way is through the serial number. You can find a thread about it on Reddit.

I believe the Rev A or B only refers to the box it is in, not the device. The key is week number which is 32 so it was made in August and most certainly is one of the revised batch.

The Reverb has a "worldwide warranty". What this means is that the warranty will follow the unit so long as you are in a country where the product is sold. This headset has a warranty until 15/9/2020

You should only buy something like this from HP or an authorized HP dealer. If you buy it anywhere else, you may be out of luck if you ever have to get warranty support.

My Reverb should be delivered tomorrow. But I won't be home to accept the delivery since I have to be at work, they are swapping my dev PC at work so I have to be there. I live in a fairly safe complex but it looks like the delivery requires signature through FedEx.
