Raisuli
I have to rebuild winblows on my new game machine (because yes, Windows is a festering pile of crap). Can I just uncheck my modules or do I have to uninstall them to clear the license? Unchecking == easy. Uninstalling == brain damage (no, we can't just queue this up and do it all at once, you get to watch DCS restart every time).
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 24, 2020 ED Team Share Posted February 24, 2020 (edited) All mods are now keyless, 2.5.5 check your modules that use starforce and deactivate. 2.5.6 open beta - just log out of your DCS, reinstall windows, install dcs and log in. Rudel_chw
I have to rebuild winblows on my new game machine ... Can I just uncheck my modules or do I have to uninstall them to clear the license? If you are using the latest DCS Open beta (version 2.5.6), then you don't need to worry about the license, since now there are no modules with StarForce copy protection. If you are still on DCS 2.5.5 or earlier, then you need to click on the DRM button of the modules: A-10C, Ka-50 and FC3 .. which were still using the old copy protection. Thanks Well, that's far too easy. Beating my head against the wall sounded so much safer. Of course, I have a headache now... Thanks as always, BigNewy! If this comes up again I'll know better. I didn't log out of DCS, but I did delete everything before I nuked the drive.
