VKB MCG PRO / Roll

Recommended Posts

I tried different springs / cams for ROLL

2 x per axis or one, same result. I can't calibrate 100 % the ROLL

As you can see in the attached image, 32767 is the centered value, but not for the Roll

What else should I try, guys ?

Should I ignore this, and leave it as it is ?

Any advices are welcome, thank you

How does it look when you actually go through the VKB calibration routine?

Everything looks okay but not the Roll axis

It should be 32767 - centered

Would that be a problem, if the Roll axis is 31700 / 32100, etc , instead of default value - 32.767 ?

Is your stick not centering in exactly the same spot when returning to center in the roll axis? It should be at least very, very close. Have you checked the roll dampener? Sounds like maybe you need to loosen it up on the roll axis?

That's right, the stick is not centering in the same spot....

Could you please tell me exactly which is the dampener ?

Thank you

I gotta run out real quick - it is the dry clutch I believe they refer to it as.

Check the VKB North America website, you should find info on how to adjust it there...

There are a few options helping the grip centering perfectly:

- use the hard detent cams (#30);

- use stronger springs (a min. of 1x30 or 2x20);

- loosen the dry clutches completely;

- use a wider deadzone.

In your case, if you're using the same cams and springs on both axes and only the X axis has issues returning to the center it could mean that the damper on that axis is too tight. Here's a video showing how to replace cams and springs on a GF MKII base; I linked to the time when the dry clutch is adjusted:

There are also people preferring a very sensitive stick so they use light springs (#10 or #20) and soft centering cams (#10); in these cases the grip won't be returning to center by itself, you have to push it there. Also, you could program a button in VKBDevCfg - press it and the respective axis drops to 0. Link for this variant:
