Well I think the Syria map could go 1 of two ways... It could take a more modern route and model the Syrian Civil War, thus including Icirlik or it could go a more Arab-Israeli War route and be a phantom playground! Although it could (hopefully) be both! F-4's and F-15's or even A-4's over the Bekka Valley would be amazing!!

Yes please,

Also mirage III (on RAZBAM road map) vs mig 21.

Today we have an image of the MiG-19 cockpit from RAZBAM. This will be a great and interesting module showing the evolution of MiG aircraft between the MiG-15 and MiG-21. It will also serve as a great adversary for the upcoming F-4E Phantom II by Belsimtek. These aircraft meeting up over the Golan will be amazing.

caucasus, syria, persian gulf and afghanistan

If you draw that western border slightly further west then it would include Cyprus and give the UK forces a forward base of operations too, which would allow us to deploy the likes of the Hawk + other UK aircraft there :)

Especially as it would give a legitimate reason for one of the developers to include the EE/BAC Lightning :D :pilotfly:

Guys, please don't make it political here as it is against forum rules. Maps can be used for various scenarios, defined by the respective mission maker.

"New theaters in development: Syria, Crimea, and Afghanistan"

The current theaters included in TBS are the Caucasus region, the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), and the Strait of Hormuz region.

As we develop additional theaters such as Afghanistan and the Ukraine/Crimea, we continue to update and add to these current theaters (such as the National Training Center).

Other aircraft are in development such as the F-16, F/A-18, and AH-64.

- Quotes from TBS page

Hells yea.. TBS/DCS in 2018-2019 is going to be alot of fun.

I hope so! Apache was listed on TBS website too, one can dream, right?! :D

Yes, dream can... But when the TBS is for military / government customers, they have own NDA allowance for classified data. What it means to us, mere mortal customers, we can only dream x-) So what comes to TBS, is not what comes to DCS.

Afghanistan nice.... But I feel Syria is little "off-limits" for me as it is still going on etc.

Instead Syria I would like to see something in spirit of the Normandy, a Fulda Cap map. Hills, wide open ranges, the NATO's cold war nightmare of incapability to invade CPPP from that route or getting counter-attack from there if attacking somewhere else to CPPP.

After that I would possibly pass every other map ever come... (Damn, bad news for ED).

Not entirely true... there were projects that were developed for the TBS and they ended up going to DCS as well afterward. Syria and Afghanistan are two examples. They were on TBS website for a LOOONG time.

This news is great but what year should we expect release? 2020?

Exactly, he should have said "So what comes to TBS, is not necessarily what comes to DCS".

It might happen, but it doesn't have to.

What I meant is that we can't take 100% granted that what is on TBS, will come to DCS. We can only dream it comes, as there is possibility, but not certainty.

I hope a DCS Syria map will give us the options geographically to simulate part of the Arab-Israel conflicts. This can't possibly be OT

Your last comment was probably removed due to quoting me in the discussion with QuiGon. That entire debate is removed.

FYI, for those commenting on the Soviet/Afghan war. We're getting the wrong Hind. The one used in that conflict was the ugly one. UgliER one. Well... Less cool one. Yeah, that's a better way to say it.

1177205.jpg?v=v40

-edit

Actually, I may be wrong about that. Initially, yes, it seems so, but the later versions may have arrived in time towards the end of the conflict.

-double edit

Yep, confirmed the more commonly recognised Hind was present.
