We are not a group, no need to "join", just show up when you can/want to. No training required, beginners welcome.

We fly co-op missions every Sunday at 19:00 UTC alternating between F-86F missions (Korean War using the Caucasus map and recently 1950s mission on the Syrian Map) and late 60s early 70s A-4E-C Skyhawk/F-5E3 Tiger II Vietnam War and Middle East conflicts.

Some missions include Medevac/CSAR using the UH1-Huey

Pilots are from all over the world, mostly US and Europe.

Free A-4E-C Skyhawk flyable mod REQUIRED for 60s/70s missions.

We have a core of 10 pilots who always show up with an additional 6-12 others who sometimes do.

Some missions have been as large as 23 pilots but we are trying to keep it around 12.

We use the Discord for the public Vietnam War and Korean War servers to post information and voice comms.

New F-86 Sabre mission for tomorrow, no commitments just show up and fly. All ability levels welcome.

Mission Brief for 19:00 UTC Sunday 27 Sept 2020

Syria 20 Aug 1957

--SITUATION--

Syrian Arab Army (SAA) units are massing along the southern border of Turkey. After yesterday's air strikes against Syrian Arab Air Defense Forces (SAADF) bases these units appear to be committing to a full ground invasion of Southern Turkey. We have intel that indicates that the SAA is deploying artillery launched limited yield nuclear weapons to the border. This could constitute a first strike scenario and engulf not only the middle east but eastern Europe as well. The United States and its ally Turkey can not and will not allow this to happen.

--MISSION--

Turkish Air Force F-86s out of Incirlik air base will will search for, find and destroy the convoy carrying nuclear artillery armaments to the northern border between Syria and Turkey. The convoy is reported to be leaving Abu al-Duhur air base this morning at 0800 hours and traveling north thru Aleppo and then north west to the vicinity of Minakh air base. Minakh air base is too well defended to attack it directly. It has been decided that a strike along the convoy route will yield better results and we can be sure to destroy the artillery munitions.

[1:44 PM]

--ENEMEY DISPOSITION--

The route between Abu al-Duhur and Minakh is expected to be heavily protected by both 88mm and 40mm anti-aircraft artillery. Soviet built Mig-15s, and as you found out yesterday; Mig-19s are expected to be in the area flying combat air patrols and could scramble from bases deeper into Syria. The Mig-19s are armed with K-13A air to air missiles. These missiles are similar to the Gar-8 missiles that our own F-86s are armed with. The convoy itself will consist of SAA armored and soft targets.

--NAVIGATION--

Takeoff is 0800. On takeoff take a heading of 110 for 82nm to Minakh air base [MGRS CA 24]. Turn on a heading of 171 for 21nm until over Aleppo [MGRS CA 30]. Aleppo Air Base has an ADF of 369 kHz Search along roads toward Aleppo. From Aleppo turn 178 for 26nm to the vicinity of Abu al-Duhur[MGRS CV36].

[1:44 PM]

---RULES OF ENGAGEMENT---

There are a lot of civilians moving on the ground, many fleeing from the fighting that is expected in the north. Make sure of your targets. All civilian aviation has been grounded in the region so if you see something in the air, shoot it down.

I do not need to emphasis how important this mission is. If we fail to destroy our objectives the United States will have B52 bombers standing by the carpet bomb the entirety of the Syrian border in order to keep a world wide crisis from developing.

Mission Brief for 20:00 UTC Sunday 8 November 2020

Syria 28th Aug 1957

--SITUATION--

Turkish ground forces along with other elements of NATO have pushed over the Syrian border and have captured the city of Minakh as well as Minakh air base. Aleppo is the next objective. Our forces are pushing toward the city but have encountered a fierce pocket of resistance along the reservoir north east of the city. We cannot leave these forces behind us; they must be subdued.

--MISSION--

Turkish Air Force F-86s out of Hatay air base will carry out close air support for our ground forces. The first objective is to destroy the rocket artillery located north west of the reservoir. These rockets can reach Minakh air base. We will not be able to use resources at that base until those launchers have been knocked out. The second objective is to take out the ground forces located nearby. Great care must be taken as our forces are in close contact with the enemy across the canals south, west and to the south. Be very sure of your targets.

Air threat warning from Firefly 131Mzh

--ENEMEY DISPOSITION--

There are elements of the SAA 34th, 20th and 77th armored battalions as well as 43rd Regimental artillery in the area. Expect soviet made T-55 tanks, armored personnel carriers, and Grad rocket artillery vehicles. SAA infantry attached to the armored battalions have dug in along the canals protecting the pocket.

SAAF units are in low supply, but we do expect some type of action from their remaining Migs as well as attempts at ground attack by SAAF propeller driven fighter/bombers.

There is very heavy AAA around Aleppo, avoid that area if possible.

--NAVIGATION--

Takeoff is 10:00 from runway 04. On takeoff take a heading of 085 degrees for 50nm. The targets are north east of the reservoir. Minakh is available for refuel rearm once the SAA artillery has been neutralized.

---RULES OF ENGAGEMENT---

All civilian aviation has been grounded in the region so if you see something in the air, shoot it down.

There are friendlies danger close to your targets. Once again: Be very careful where you fire your weapons.

Mission Briefing for 20:00 UTC Sunday 15 November 2020.

And now for something completely different.

Due to issues with the latest DCS update we cannot hold our usual Vietnam co-op mission this Sunday. Instead we will have a formation flying session in the F-86 on the Caucuses map. Everyone is welcome to join in.

EDIT: Although there is a hotfix that may have fixed the issue with the A-4 not moving for other players we are still going to fly formation anyway.
