Helios not displaying profile

OK. It has been a while since I set Helios up but I don't recall having this issue before.

 

No matter what profile I try to use, including a newly created one, nothing displays on my second monitor (or the main monitor for that matter).

 

I am quite sure I have had it working under Win 10 in the past but I could be wrong. The only difference, aside from a new computer, is that I am now using a 4k monitor for my main display and Helios thinks that is monitor #2.

 

When I take an existing profile and use Reset Monitors in the editor, everything looks like it should but when I run the profile, even though it says 'Running Profile...' nothing displays.

 

I am assuming that I have overlooked something simple but, for the life of me, I cannot figure out what is wrong.

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

are you using Captain Zeen's latest Export.lua?

 

(I don't have Win 10, nor a 4K primary. But I use his Export.Lua with my Win 8.1 and 1080p primary a-ok).

This problem precedes getting DCS involved. Helios running all by itself will display a profile. The export lua is only involved in getting the data to the instruments.

 

Otherwise the answer would be yes. If I could get it to display I have all of the latest Capt. Zeen files.

for what it's worth. a thread on Win10 issues and Helios. You mentioned you weren't certain if you had it running on Win10 or not.

good luck buddy, (I'm using Win8.1, so I really can't help troubleshoot).

 

you're right though, Helios should at least pop up on the display, whether the touch/gauges work or not.

Thanks for the link. My Helios installed just fine, but I will give that a shot anyway, it can't hurt.

I am running Helios with no issues in Win10 pro (but I have delayed the new Win Creator update). Could the Creator update be the issue? I have Helios running fine in DCS and BMS but I don't have a 4k screen. Have you tried to swap the 4k for another monitor to see if that is the problem?

That machine doesn't have the Creator update yet.

 

Have you tried to swap the 4k for another monitor to see if that is the problem?

 

That sounds like work. :D Yeah, I may have to do that. I have plenty of extra monitors, I am just lazy.

I just uninstalled Helios, so I am going on memory here. You have verified that Helios monitor #X equals Windows monitor #X, in reset monitors?

 

I am beginning to suspect this is related to the problem.

 

When I started out, Windows called my 4k monitor 2 and the intended helios monitor (1080) as monitor 1. Helios had it reversed.

 

I just tried replacing the 4k with another 1080 monitor and Windows switched the numbers but Helios still had it reversed. This time the profile displayed but part of it was on each monitor.

 

I think this was due to Windows being confused.

 

Hooked the 4k back up and now the 4k is monitor 1 but Helios still has them reversed.

 

Resetting the monitors allows me to get the profile onto the correct monitor in the editor and it looks fine there but it still won't display anything.

 

Is there a way to get Helios to renumber the monitors?

When you do reset monitors, there should be a way to set

 

Monitor X = Monitor X

 

try clicking on the numbers. I know I had to set mine like 1234 equals 3124

 

The day after I uninstall it... ha! Memory is gone.

 

Ikarus is actually pretty good.

Yeah, that part works fine. I tell it to set 1->2 and 2->1 and that works. The preview window in the editor shows everything like it should be. It just does not work when I run the profile.

 

There is no error message in the log, so it is almost like Helios is displaying the profile somewhere outside of the actual screen space.

These are newly downloaded from Capt. Zeen's website, and all of them have the same problem.

 

EDIT: I also created a new profile, by just throwing a few gauges in it, and this one did not display either.

Windows scaling was the culprit. Leave it at 100% (mine was set to 175% for the 4k screen) and the problem goes away.
