ED Team NineLine Posted May 14, 2019 ED Team Share Posted May 14, 2019 Dear all, first post updated with this change: **UPDATE** 1.16 violations will first be 20% perma warning, 1 week off. A second violation will be another 20% perma and one month off. A third violation will be 100% warning and 1 year off. After the 1 year, your 100% warning will remain intact, and any further violations will result in a permanent ban on these forums. Donut
With the severity of recent events, I have been looking at rule 1.16 more closely and also took the time to refresh myself on all the other rules as well. First, how is the Heatblur launch video allowed? https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3819258&postcount=1. It contains vulgar language. The F-14 module itself has Jester using vulgar language, which I suppose is fine since these rules apply to the forums. However, why is posting of Tomcat videos on the forums allowed if they contain Jester using vulgar language? Now in regards to 1.16, how are ED and third parties allowed to use the same documents that we are not allowed to post or even talk about? Also, can you tell us how we are supposed to discuss and learn about the 4th gen aircraft made by ED if there are so many restrictions preventing us from doing so. It might help to tell us what we are allowed to discuss and share and not just what we are not allowed to. i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"
ED Team NineLine Posted May 14, 2019 ED Team Share Posted May 14, 2019 First, language. I try to let some of it slide when it's not the big bad words, and it's not used in a derogatory sense. Most of us are old enough to handle it, but we also don't need to get carried away with it, so its generally just deleted and no warning given unless you are a very repeat customer. For 1.16, there is a lot of information out there that is ok, and for public consumption, the issue is vetting it and making sure it's ok. For that reason, we remove all linked documents and copy and paste info from those documents. The discussion of anything modelled in DCS, and how it works, things listed and spelled out in the DCS Manuals, etc. After all, this is the DCS World forum, and discussions should revolve around that. If you feel you have something very important to share but are concerned about 1.16, you can PM a dev and ask them about it. You can post about things not working correctly in DCS, but using your own words and opinions. ED is going to have most if not all of the publicly available info, so there is no need to share it. The latest news should show you how responsible we should all be if you have any doubts, you should not consider sharing it, no different than adult material, or personal information. The internet isn't a vacuum, you can get yourself in trouble as easily as anywhere else. We should all keep that in mind.
