Depends.

If you do something once, you should know how to do it Faster, Better, Stronger () for the next one ... and the next one ... and the next one ...
I guess this wont be perfect for each module at release. But at least, DM should be almost finished when release a new plane.

We must be able to kill those ... [insert word of your choice]"

I've had something in the back of my mind for a couple months...

Seeing all these DM screenshots, I'm seeing a lot of the same damage represented on the aircraft that we have now. For instance, in that last screenshot with the damaged 109, thanks to that high resolution I can see the tearing in its left aileron. This damage, visually looks exactly like what we have with the 109 now. So I would hope that the new DM, in the end, might not replace these damage textures that we have currently, but perhaps just add on to them? Currently the 109, visually in the wings, doesnt display a lot of holes in its wings. While the 51 looks like an angry painter with a brush of black paint flicked his brush all over different sections of the wing. Peppered with damage.

So, I have two questions:
Will the new DM add additional tearing and hole placement on an airframe?
Will the black spots representing holes on the 51 be eliminated?

And I suppose I have a third:
And also, will the 47 come with a complete DM in the new system, or be released initially with the old system?

A lot of the old damage textures are being used, although they are being tuned to represent hits better, they are also investigating dynamic hits to come. There are issues with parts not showing the damage or showing in the wrong spot, we are working at adding and fixing those.

The P-51 damage is old, and it's been pointed out to the team it's not anywhere as good as the newer modules. It really doesn't show cannon/major damage as well.

It's really important to note that the bulk of the improvements is how damage affects the simulation. Not to say that graphical isn't getting love as well.

The P-51 black holes and lack of major damage is a known issue for sure. As well as a number of other things DM wise that are lacking due to its age.

As for the P-47, it just depends on where the new DM is when the P-47 releases, but its currently being worked on, but obviously won't be functioning until it's released for all of them.

No mention of the DM in 2.5.6 update notes on the website.

Sometimes ED does not put the changes in the changelog if they are half baked and not fully released like the DM. Let's hope that this is the case also.

Can we have a clear description of which , if any, of the DM changes have been introduced, to avoid having to speculate on potential behavior changes?

Only should be seeing WIP effects, otherwise the DM has not released yet.
