Some features like special effects you have to pay for, but the free version is powerful enough and does everything I need to make my videos. It takes a little fiddling to get your video formats compatible, and you have to make sure that your project's framerate matches the framerate of your imported footage, but once you get the hang of it the software is awesome considering it's free.
