I just fully tested all maps (Caucasus, PG, NTTR) and it’s working perfectly. Also, I did delete all of the fxo and metashaders2 files before testing.

Great, thanks for the feedback, and all the patience in getting this resolved!

Nevada still crashed in mission editor, can NOT load my mission, instant crash back to desktop !

Please fix it in a update ..

Will need more information, probably best to open a new thread as the latest hotfix has fixed this for most, you might be experiencing something else, so best bet is to start a new thread, and include all the needed info.

Firstly it has to be said: Rik, Nineline, and all the ED team I absolutely LOVE your work. Outstanding stuff.

Secondly I was having similar CTD issues with the Caucasus map but strangely only with the "F-15: The Georgian War" campaign missions. Hotfix 3 seems to have fixed that too, so all good.

Thanks a lot.

Hello, Rik.

I appreciate a lot the efforts you're doing in trying to solve all the maps issues, but I'm still experiencing this one when launching a mission even after applying your valuable fix.

If of your interest, it's happening since the last three or four updates and also with Nevada map.

I have always sent a report online with the embedded facility, hope you at ED received them.

I put the fix as per instructions in my '(my username)\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config' folder, did I it right? Or should I try elsewhere or in that same folder?

Here as follows my last log, please let know something.

With best regards,

Please make sure your computer is up to date, all drivers and OS, your driver for your vid card is quite old.

Thanks for your attention and the hint, NineLine.

My OS is updated to the last released by Microsoft a few days ago.

About the nVidia drivers, I had to unistall the last version released because it made a real mess in my system, so I had to revert to a well experienced 'safe' version. Even I know that the last drivers tend to lack in quality sometimes, and this could be the reason.

But the same, I' will try to do that the same once again, and I'll keep you all here updated about the results, if I wouldn't bother you, of course.

With best regards,

The Persian Gulf map causes a crash every time when I go into the Mission Editor. Everything else works ok. This is the first problem I've ever had with DCS. The crash log shows an access violation error.

Lots of C: drive activity when I start the Mission Editor for Persian Gulf, but all my installation is on E: (SSD). I've tried a Repair, running as Admin, and also renaming the SavedGames folder, disabling and re-enabling the terrain, running with all low settings, all to no avail.

I'm running the free weekend trial. I wanted to buy the package with PG and F-18, but I won't if this can't be resolved on my system.

I've sent the info to ED tech support, and I know they must be super busy, but I don't know how I'll verify that this works after the trial ends.

Thanks for any help!

Your specs are on the low-end, you might be running out of RAM loading into the ME, try and cut down on what else you have running before starting DCS, even things like web browser windows can suck up resources. Maybe monitor your RAM usage while running, as well, try turning down your settings in DCS.

Thanks for the very quick reply! I'll try those.

Even though my system is far from cutting edge, I can get medium-high graphics on everything else in DCS with frame rates from 40-60 which is great for me. Is PG that more demanding on resources?

Tried a reboot, then stopping background services ordered by most memory, then running DCS with low settings - same crash. The access violation error seems to always come up:

E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\edterrain4.dll

# C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at D0AAB15C 00:00000000

Thanks again for your help. I've spent quite a bit of time this weekend trying to get it going. I think I may have to give up on PG and wait until I upgrade my system. Everything else in DCS is excellent, so life is still good!
