Default Newbie Q: "Muting" a user possible?

Is is possible to "mute" a user, that is either hide their posts or show them initially in a collapsed state, when selecting a thread? I've looked around and even searched the forums, but I haven't been able to find anything on that.

Yes, for sure there is

Clock on the user’s nickname, to go to his profile page. On the first red bar, click on User Lists, then on Add to ignore list ... presto.

Cool, thanks so much. I added you to my ignore list and it worked. All in the name of science of course. (And in my further defense I did remove you afterwards. )

I have to say though that this feature is hidden pretty well...
