True and Magnetic

Can anyone try this pretty please?

1- First it would be tracing a vertical line and see what the ruler says.

2- Then tracing a line through the ILS white arrow and see the reading.

3- Then trace a line along a meridian near the airport you are testing and see the reading. Make sure its not the center UTM meridian every map has.

4- Next, with the data you found out in your first time, we find how the map was projected and if it suffers the same error as the caucasus.

Ha! Forgot about this thread.

Once again, I confirm for the second time (and the last one I hope :D), that both ruler tools in Editor map and F10 map (which ARE the same maps no matter what DCS version you play by the way, only the interface is different) on Nevada follow Grid North (dead straight up reads zero). Checked at Mesquite, the furthest East airfield on the map.

Don't know what implications of it are for Mirage, 'cause I don't own any of these gimmicky modern airplanes ;).

Ok then it confirms that the new engine map is using the same old technology as FC1 and its corresponding model error.

Very bad news, but thanks for replying.

Oh, c'mon, at least we can enjoy proper curvature of the NTTR horizon from 40k ft... while doing VFR ;).

Compared to Normandy map, which has one airfield oriented 45 degrees in wrong direction and few others located on the wrong side of the towns, both older maps are still better from sort of precise navigation point of view :D.

Yeah, lol. Why so much work (and time!!!) on a map engine that cant even model true north.
