All of lakenheath's Strike Eagles have -229's, Seymour and Mountain home have mixed -220/-229, it all depends on which squadron you go to. I can't remember off the top of my head, but some squadrons at Seymour/ Mountain Home are only -220 squadrons (the B-course for example) some are mixed, and some have only -229's. Its about 50/50 for the entire fleet being -229 vs -220

Seymour is 220s only, no mix.

Thanks. Has been a long time since I wrote about the Mud Hen. My only comment is that the motors are 220Es, not 220s. That would be pedantic, though!

Yes, you are just describing some of the internal swaptronics being changed out from a reliability standpoint...no extra muscle unfortunately.

what a story:

https://fleetaviationgazette.com/201...r-lands-f-15e/

Irregardless this not being a true story and example where its a good thing such a backseat aicraft was included with controls.

RIP if something happens to the pilot a Tomcat.

Someone obviously didn't catch that Fleet Aviation Gazette is basically The Onion with planes.

And you miss the point of the post.

It's great the f15e wso has ability to pilot the aircraft in whatever circumstance unlike the f14 or other aircraft that dont, and vice versa roles can be reversed with the pilot still being able to fulfill the functions a backseater can.
