Default Storm Area 51 memes

I don't know if you all have heard, but there has been a lot of memes from a joke event called "Storm Area 51" that has gone viral all over the internet.

Of all places on the internet, I'm surprised at the lack of "Storm Area 51" memes made out of screenshots from the NTTR map in DCS though.

We have an actual 3d rendition of Groom Lake in DCS for crying out loud.

Maybe because our average age around these parts is about 40, and at those numbers we can barely grasp the idea of a tweet

So now I know.

Some people have made missions to this effect. Good for a quick sensible chuckle.

IMO one of the better ones:

If people are in the USA then they would want to check the internet there because it is a different internet to everywhere else and might hold more information than this internet. There is definitely no need to listen to the wacky UK Military Intelligence idea of storming Groom Lake.

Don't sell us too short, I'm in my mid 30's and so are most of my friends and we got a lot of laughs out of all the "Storm Area 51" joke memes.

I don't know anybody that's taking it seriously or that doesn't understand that it's a joke. If people are taking it seriously, it's kind of sad and alarming. It looks like a joke that went viral and the creator then decided to make money out of it by selling merchandise.

I think it's hillarious!

But... while I'm sure that nearly everyone knows it's a joke not to be taken seriously, the number total reaching over 1 million is of concern. Not because they'd show up, but because maybe a half a percent MIGHT NOT SEE IT"S A JOKE and actually seriously try to do this. Because some people really ARE that dumb. Really.

So I'll bet there was a lot of laughing during that briefing, but probably finished with something like "so if a few people actually walk through the desert, be friendly but firmly turn them away" or something to that effect. It's a sad fact of life that not everyone who hears a joke actually understands it fully!

Not their fault, maybe just born with less circuits.

So I'll bet there was a lot of laughing during that briefing, but probably finished with something like "so if a few people actually walk through the desert, be friendly but firmly turn them away 2 miles before the boundary so they don't get a $5000 fine and a record" or something to that effect. It's a sad fact of life that not everyone who hears a joke actually understands it fully!
