Shadows part of textures

I just realized why this map looks so flat and strange when you are close to the ground - the shadows are 'burnt in' the textures. This means that they don't match the position of the sun and look unnatural (ugly) most of the time.

 

Any plans to make some improvements in this direction - make the terrain textures shadow free and project dynamic shadows on the terrain?

I would say no to your questions.

The map is finished and is fine.Try mustangs mod for better mesh detail.

If ED did what you asked..they would get a hundred reports asking why

FPS has got worse.

Eveything is a trade off..better visuals==lower fps.

Personally I like NTTR a lot and use the above mentioned mod to make it look better.
