Any training missions in there? I need to refamiliarise myself with the systems of the FC3 planes. I guess I could do the Su27 missions on radar and missile use? There is not much difference there is there?

(Disclaimer: I have never flown SFM planes in any version of DCS World so Im very interested in trying out the Mig29)

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Are these the missions we are talking about?

It's a thread about MiG-29 quickstart (instant) missions, so, no, these are not the missions we are looking for.

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

Annoyed by my posts? Please consider donating. Once the target sum is reached, I'll be off to somewhere nice I promise not to post from. I'd buy that for a dollar!

The standalone modules and FC3 quickstart missions are a complete mess. It took me a better part of two hours to force install all the standalone modules and browse through the mission folders and copy all the missing quickstart missions and add them to the lua file. The mission files don't have consistent naming, some modules don't have missions for all the maps, some files use the Persian Gulf naming, some Straight of Hormuz, etc.

It would be nice if ED could sort this mess out when they are fixing the missing MiG-29 quickstart missions.

That will most likely be done with MAC, they are working on standardizing missions across all modules, specifically the FC3/MAC ones.

I can't sstart these missions. I've tried Nineline's fix, but now I can't find any of those missions. Where do I need to put those missions? In my users file, or my DCS World MODS directory?

I just want a Mig29 cold start mission, and I can't even do that :(

Check the OP, yes it is under mods not user files.

Don’t see any new missions, but a while ago when they added Persian Gulf missions for FC3 in changelog I and a few people didn’t see them until a few updates later. Maybe two more weeks....

Well, there are some Cold Start/Free Flight A/G/S instant missions that come as part of the MiG-29 module and there are some combat instant missions provided by NineLine in the OP (which I presume were accidentally left out from the module).

If either are copied to the FC3 Missions/Quickstart folder, the quickstart.lua file in the same folder also needs to be updated to include them and then they will show up.

I guess they'll sort this up in the next update, at least for the MiG-29.

Thanks for the replies I did download Nineline's missions and the .lua file but they are still not showing up.

I did finally figure out a workaround as I can access them from the editor but that seems a bit clunky.

I've checked the provided quickstart.lua yesterday, but it didn't contain the files that were shared so I had to add them manually.

Nineline's 7 new missions do not show up under Quick Action, but they can still be accessed via My Missions of Missions tab in game.

You just simply need to tell DCS to go back to the directory from where you added those 7 missions. After all we can search files in game just like using Windows Explorer :

....DCS Openbeta\Mods\Aircraft\Flamming Cliffs 3\Quick Action\...

By the way those new missions are FUN to play yet challenging. A big thumbs up to Nineline and ED.

For some reason the My Missions tab in the game only looks at my C: Drive and USER subdirectory etc, I can't point it to my SSD where I have DCS World installed. So, yeah thats a no go for me.

Scroll DOWN ... at the end of the file list there are the unit letters to change drive :)

Speaking of missions, does this line from the weekend news post mean that a new campaign will be added?

"Includes instant action, single missions, and a campaign."
