thrustvector
ok, say your radio is out, or not and I'm flying over an airfield, if its empty maybe not a problem, but how do I know what is the landing takeoff end just by visual?
FragBum
Probably best to attempt to land into the wind or as best you can given prevailing wind and orientation of the runway, always damn handy it there is a wind sock as well. :D Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. It doesn't matter where it is. You takeoff and land into the wind, so you approach from whichever runway is closest to the direction the sock is pointing.
