Best motherboard ryzen 2700x

I bought the ryzen 2700x but looking for a good motherboard. I’ve heard the X470 chips are the best but don’t know my options. I don’t know anything about overclocking. I’ve heard asus rog X470-F and gigabyte gaming 7 but so many options to choose from. I use 6 sun ports on my current desktop. I bought the gtx 1070. Any suggestions on favorite motherboard? Amazon and Newegg show a lot of 4 stars. Of course no motherboard is perfect but I need suggestions.

Asrock Taichi has one of best feature sets and VRMs. You will be able to fit even the upcoming 12/16 cores in it and have no problems with power.

The chip will OC itself with PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive).

If you are not planning on running more than one PCIe-SSD (M2 drive), more than a single video card, or an upgrade to Ryzen 3000 down the road (which may not be backwards compatible on every AMD Socket AM4 motherboard (B350/X370/B450/X470), you don't need the X470. The X470 boards are more likely to get BIOS updates to support Ryzen 3000, but it is up to each motherboard manufacturer to add support.

Find the cheapest B450 with the best reviews that has all the features you want (number of USB ports etc), and you are good to go.

I use X370 and B350 Ryzen builds, and tbh, they all overclock to 4G the same way. There is some silicon lottery luck involved, but the boards themselves dont differ much in the way they treat the CPU.

You can spend lots of money for bling bling boards but if money is tight, rather get a B450 and 32GB than a X470 and 16GB. That is how I think.

Taichi X470 here for the beefy VRM's (upgrade to next gen Ryzen in mind), Bluetooth (for my headless headset with wireless TrackIR clip) and proper sound chipset (I play music a lot)

the new Ryzen CPU?s will have same TDP except the 16 core black editions. So unless your going for the latter you should worry too much.

Also worth checking out some of the MSI B450's. I got the b450m gaming plus which has good enough specs, lots of fan headers and it was on sale. I was only putting a Ryzen 5 in there and my plan was to OC to 4.2 if I could, otherwise leave it alone, so it didn't have to be excellent, just good enough

If you haven't bought your RAM yet, might be worth making sure your RAM works optimally with the MB you have in mind. b450 was way better than b350 in this regard, for me anyway, but I think it's still worth checking.

The number of kits listed there exceeds those in the qualified vendor list for a given Motherboard but it is generally accepted that these memories will give you the best chance of compatibility (and performance).
