mwd2
After the last update, 2.5.3.21016, the size of the map, where i can place units is smaller than before. In Stable 2.5.2.20601, i can go far east into the Gulf of Oman, here you can see grid GM. Under OpenBETA 2.5.3.21016, the farthest east is grid FM. mwd2
Okay, in the last OpenBETA 2.5.3.21153, i have still the same situation. Both pictures in the 1st. post are taken in resolution of 1280x786, but this should not the problem. Marnes23
I have the same problem with both the Nevada and Persian gulf maps but not the Caucuses map.
Exorcet
I've found this issue now as well in the stable release. In fact on the Persian Gulf map, I loaded a mission from a previous version and I can't reach the unit because it's out of bounds. I don't really like the map limits at all, but as they are now, they are far too restrictive. IlludiumQ36
I have the same problem with both the Nevada and Persian gulf maps but not the Caucuses map. Same here. NTTR is truncated, Caucasus is unaffected. https://i.imgur.com/PXbhmfj.png - This is a fully zoomed out view of NTTR. The entire East side of the map is inaccessible - cannot zoom or pan to get to it. The North and South are cutoff as well with only a limited amount of pan available. I wonder if this has something to do with the upcoming MAC module having restricted portions of these maps in particular and that code possibly being integrated into the current builds in preparation for release. Regardless, this needs to be corrected. I didn't pay $50 for a full map only be able to build missions in a section of said map.
Esac_mirmidon
Dont be dramatic, the terrain is there. Clic on the "actual size" icon and you will see that little portion of the map outside the zoom. " You must think in russian.." I have edited mission that I can't see some units :(
Zaz0
no official words on this? I only want to know if it's a bug, and it's planned to turn back at previous scale on ME or it's final editable zone.
Exorcet
I'd also like to see what the official stance is, and if possible have the ME map limits greatly increased. ChuckJäger
Am I losing my mind? I think the PG map has actually gotten bigger... I honestly do not remember it extending all the way to the North West like it is currently when was initially released.. Looks like we have parts of Kuwait and Iraq as well as Bahrain and Qatar. Hopefully they will go ahead and develop those areas with airfields and such! Hopefully they will go ahead and develop those areas with airfields and such! The issue is not the size of the map itself, but how far you can zoom out, or pan across the map in the ME. In some older versions of the sim on the Caucuses map you could actually go hundreds of miles outside of the intended map area in the ME and place units, which was extremely useful. Now the maps try to keep you focused very tightly on the intended areas. Now I do understand that their might be reasons for map limits of some kind, but I don't know why these are so restrictive. I've flow about 1000 miles north of the map border in the ME before my game crashed so it doesn't seem like expanding the ME limit even by a few hundred miles will cause an issue. And yes, two airfields were added to the north of the map. No more expansion is planned except possibly slightly south in the UAE. Winterz
I confirm this. It's really anoying I cant reach some units I did put far-east in my missions such as a carrier group to make distances closer to real life ROE. It's a pity. I hope ED will take a look at this problem.
Winterz
Looks like it's corrected in the latest openbeta patch. I'll have to try it out.
