Default UV Rheostat

Just started a mission in the dark - I can use the panel flood lights and activate the UV Rheostat which lights up the instruments but after a short while they go dark again.

Has anyone else tried it or experienced the same problem?

Rheostat shouldn't be at Max position for long time. This position for lamp ignition only. After light in on, you need turn the rheostat a bit counterclockwise or lamp will blow.
Blown lamps can be replaced by repair.

Do you just crank up the rheostat to light the lamps or are there switches?

No switch - just The rheostats.
