GTX 1070 is awesome for DCS World 2.0

Recommended Posts

Thanks, didn't realize that two of the screenshots did have the GPU and CPU load.

The way I read the figures, DCS is never albe to "max" the 1070, and the CPU load would equal two cores running at max. Right? Wrong??

I'm not expert on this stuff but I try and find balance, not do my head in, so I can fly more. all up seems to be 70% see the total not 1to4 CPU's

Next upgrade 6700K - this is quite a cheap system (Box) when bought $500 local paper.

Added ram 16mg and the GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8GB (not bad now)

Edit: there is no traffic on in that test, still very good tho, need to test some more when I get the time...

Anybody running a 1070 at 3440 x 1440?

Currently running 2 x 970's and not too sure whether a single 1070 would be a worthwhile upgrade.

a single 1070 would give you a lot more performance, DCS doesn't run well with SLI, while it works, you don't really get the performance gains you would in a game more optimized for SLI...

a single fast card is always better than two slower cards in SLI

on average, the 1070 is 50-60% faster than the 970...

also the GTX 780, 970 and RX480 all share similar performance.

Viper,

I'm running DCSW 2.0.3 on a 4K at 3840x2160 ... I could go higher but the text on the menu screens is microscopic. There needs to be a video overhaul of DCSW to accommodate 4K users!

Cheers,

MSI Afterburner and Riva tuner statistics server, comes with Afterburner, and runs tugether. Also used Opentrack and Shadowplay.

Perfect! Found the RivaTuner Server download and installed latest HWINFO64 and used this tutorial to set it up: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/717129-How-To-In-Game-CPU-Memory-Motherboard-Monitoring-Overlay

Works perfect without MSI Afterburner

GTX 1070 sux for me.

I am happy with this new card for every other game except DCS.

When flying the first mission in Su-25T Georgia Oil Campaign, as I fly past the hills on the left the environment FPS goes down to what I suspect must be below 10 fps. I watch it click click click the frames that's how slow it gets.

I lowered MSAA to x4 and Anisotropic filtering to x8 and still the same.

My last card the R9 290x worked better.

The problem is the 1.5.6 "optimization", theres nothing wrong with our rigs. I tried many times to get a better FPS with the 1.5.6 version but no effect at all. As a example, the traning mission for learning how to start the Spitifire runs for me at 15/30 FPS!

I have a i7 4790+16gb+1070FE and a SSD just for DCS World 1.5 and 2.0, and just the 2.0 runs with a solid FPS.

We just have to pray and wait for the 2.5 with the new techs and optimizations.:noexpression:

I have taken a pause from DCS and are waiting for an integrated DCS 2.5. If it comes out in the next few months no sweat. By then Ryzen CPU's will be out and my new rig would have been decided upon and built.

Hi guys! You think I will notice any difference going from a i7 2600k(stock clock) and 980 to a i7 7700k and a 1070?

You've got a K cpu, why do you keep it @stock speeds? For DCS 2.5 more VRAM for the GPU could make a difference. Best to wait for 2.5 coming around and then decide if an upgrade is needed.

The 1070 turned my 5 year old PC into a new machine. I was going to upgrade my mb and cpu, but now there is no point.

I'm afraid my motherboard doesn't support oc. Made a mistake buying a cheap one when the computer was new. It might be worth it buying a new motherboard? Already got watercooling
