How to make Bombers....Bomb

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Trying to make a Mission in DCS Normandy Map.

I want to have a bigger Bomber formation which attemps to Bomb a City.

The Player should stop that Bomber pulk with the help of several AI Pilots.

So far i have a big Bomber Pulk flying in formation into the Target Area.

But they didnt drop any Bombs.

So how can i make a group of Bombers attacking a City?

So far i have advice to set up 2 waypoints to overfly the City.

And then at least 20NM away from the first Waypoint i should set up a Bomb Trigger.

So Question is how to set up a Bomber trigger?

I couldnt find any option in the Triggers which sounds like drop ordonance or shoot or anything like that.

You'll find unit-specific tasking in either the triggered actions tab or the advanced waypoint actions tab for the bomber group (the menu that pops up on the right side of the screen when you select the group.)

As for how to use the specific WW2 bombing tasking, here's another thread on the topic.

Demo

Here's a Demo Bomb Run using the BUFF-asarus ... the Greatest Bomber of All Time. biggrin.gif

TIPS:

- Make sure you add a payload with bombs to the aircraft.

- Set your quantity to ALL unless you only want a single bomb to release.

- Make the "run in" to the target at least 20NM out. In my demo mission, waypoint one has the bombing trigger attached to it and the target icon is placed on the runway where I want bomb #1 to strike. Waypoint #2 is the end of the bombing run. Notice that the Waypoint 1 to 2 course line runs over my target area (the runway) for a nice carpet bomb effect.

Experiment with any of the settings and payload settings at will! You can't break anything. Most of all, have fun and "bombs away"!
