What to do in Mission 5?

Well, Gerd-Wiem told me how he did it, but if I'm right, it did not give 100 points.

Personally, I don't understand what to do, maybe also because the translation doesn't seem completely clear.

After cleaning up camp 1, do I have to climb and chase the Hind (never saw them though) or do I have to attack camp 2? According to Gerd-Wiem, this at least stops the "timer".

The woman tells me to climb, so I do. Soon after, I'm told that it's dangerous and that I shall not climb. So what now? Do I have to climb and search/attack the Hind or not?

Either way, I get the message that I have to "attack" and soon after, I get the message "Mission Failed" without having a clue what I should have really done.

So maybe Forexkor can explain what to do in which order?

At least I learnt how to do the manual startup of the Ka-50 due to the bugged autostart (right engine never starts).

I flew mission 5 again two times cause i missed a tank at first try and cause i am curious too, but in missions editor. A Ka-50 handstart is neccesary. Than slowly to the camp, all rockets out at once and when there is rest targets like Trucks i got it in nearly Hover flight with gun out. Best is to make after rocket attack a rockets pod jettison, cause much more less weight. After i run at 2. point, destroy with gun the truck, Mi-8 and BMP. Than to 3. point, cause wild help calls through Radio Comes out, like people will die here an so on. I saw only some

fire like a small attack or something else from far away in air, but there was nothing at 3. Point. I understand the Story in Mission 5 not. Than turned around and sniped with Shkvals the heavy tanks away, again in Hoover. But take a Little distance, The Shkvals will miss when you to close at tanks like 0.6 km or less.

After RTB i got 100 percent. Without RTB and and only one tank instead all 3 i destroyed, i got 80 percent. There is no more a camapign failed at me, all played through the editor. I can only imagine that the Designer brings you with a Story to waypoint 3, cause you can turn around and has than a better look at the tanks and much more better attack angle, special with skhvals at little more distance, but it is only a guess. Cause waypoint 3 is only the Peak of a mountain.

But on, this is told as a Trainings Mission, not a Combat flight. Try to switch all Targets off and make a RTB, than it should be done. Ok, but after the last patch now all, maybe the Mission failed failure is away.

And maybe another has a better or other idea about this Mission, that was only my way.

Hello, in this mission the first task is to eliminate the enemy's training camp.

The second task is to eliminate hinds which are chasing mi-8 group.

According to the plot, there is a "stormy" radio traffic, and no straight order to eliminate helis. But the dispatcher directs to the point in ABRIS and the radio traffic with MI-8 leads to nothing but saving MI-8 group from Georgian helis.

Ok, than i was to slowly. I cannot fly with a full loadout Ka-50 in around 3000 m and beside my orders eleminate other helis like heavy Combat Hinds. A Ka-50 against Hinds, but ok. The fire was than maybe a Mi-8 destroyed from something far away at Point 3, maybe the hinds. That is strange, cause we has no information about all bevore the Mission starts. I think that is only the Gameplay. But the less of Information let us only guess about such all.

Mission 12 is the same.

I start somewhere on the map and should look for convoys in a Mi-8. Then Apaches discover me. But after all I have to find the trigger itself where the Deep altitude flying starts. Dodge the Radar is the Mission, but you should find it self absent the route, but there is no route not on F-10 map or Kneeboard. I already flew across the whole map with time compression, that the gameplay or trigger like Apache finds me and game will go on.

I see no your second Task in the briefing with the hinds and after a next try i see no hinds at whole, curiously. Seems that is enough to destroy all Targets, fly to 3. waypoint to saving imaginary the Mi-8, but it leads to Nothing at WP. 3

You offer the dispatcher a combat flight, to defend mi-8 with Shkval rockets and the main gun. Dispatcher does not give you an exact orde, he sends you to the navigational point VS-4, near which mi-8 are passing. You should move along the creek gaining altitude.

In briefing mission 5 there are described aims but there is no word about the emergency situation with the civil helis It's the plot, a surprise for the players.

Mission 12 chronology:

You chase MI-8, but only visually according to the plot.

Apachi joins MI-8 to escort. If you get too close, at first you get a warning from the second pilot that the object is too close. Then, if you don't slow down, apachi will move to you with the second warning. If you continue and don't get at the safe distance from the general's mi-8, you'll be arrested.

i'm sorry for the confusion in the briefing 5 mission. When i was creating the mission, i had no idea it may create any difficulties and the testers have completed it without such problems. i will check it more careful next time.

n mission 12, after passing on the min altitude, you continue to move upriver, then turn to Turkish border and just continue moving through the creek until the passing of Turkish border. Then you'll see Mission Complete and the gameplay will turn off in several seconds.

There is no RTB in this mission as it has prolongation which will be available in next series of the campaign.

I still have problems with this mission (don't manage to lock the Mi-24). Is there somewhere a video of this mission around how to do this mission?

1.execute order: "there is takeoff. 11th, gain altitude up to 2000 metres, move to the first exercise, keep speed less than 150km.

You have to move up and reach 2000m according to pressure altimeter. Or until the trigger - - “Skala”, I’m taking the prescribed altitude and moving to exercise 1.

2. destroying enemy camp and several cars nearby. It's the target-1, highlighted by red smoke. Until the trigger Well done, Sergey. Do something, or they’ll pick us off" in couple of seconds from your left (at 10-11) right from behind the hill two mi-24's will appear. It's in case you move right to VS4 according to ABRIS

Then it depends on your skills, you have liitle time to destroy helicopters. and it doesn't depend on mission's circumstances. it's just because mi-24's are reacting very fast

Thanks for the explanation. It seems lack of skills from my side. I never manage to get a lock on the Mi-24 even though I enabled A/A.

For about a week now I have finished the complete campaign with over 80 percent, 175 ground targets destroyed and 17 missions total in my logbook.

I really liked it, I learned a lot of new things especially in the Mi-8. But also bugs of the Ka-50 discovered. Basically it was a nice campaign, thanks to the manufacturer for a few weeks of exciting evenings

Hi guys, did anyone fly the mission 5 recently? Every single time when I start heading towards the Mi-24s my blades fly off. I read all the forums about this problem and make sure to fly very carefully. This is never a problem for me except in this mission. Really confused....

I'm doing this mission now. But I can't find the Hinds.

I'll try to locate VS-4 now.

I think the lady Skala mentioned that Vhikrs can be fired before getting a lock… I guess that's a hint.

OK, hovered right above VS-4 at 3200 mtr. Nothing happenes.

Also, translations are terrible. I don't even understand what she is saying: "There is a hit. Shall destroy the camp absolutely". What does that even mean ? Should I destroy the whole camp ?

Later she sais "They take altitude over 3000 kilometers" Are the Mi-8's at 3000KM ? What are they, spaceships ?

Guys, this is a ka50 autostart bug. Sometimes only one engine starts. In this case, you need to start the Auxiliary power unit and start the right engine.
