egr temps

well since the egr temp system has been updated i have found it impossible to fly the huey. as much as i try i can not fly the huey because the egr temps will not drop below 6 on the gauge if you nraise the collective the egr rises no matter how small of an increae in collective the egr climbs . how do you lower the egr temp besides lowering the collective? i try to fly with the egr temp at 6 as much as i can and be airbourne. about 5 minutes in to the flight the egr temp shuts down engine power and you fall out of the sky, this last flight i was locked on the egr gauge and it would flutter above 6 but i got it back asap it was very hard to climb or pickup speed.

how are you suppose to fly this helo when you cant get to altitude slowly less than 1 on the vsi. i would like to see s video of someone from ed fly the huey since the change describing the correct way to take off get to altitude and cruise at altitude for 5 minutes

Between not being able to fly the uh-1h in sim mode and the ai not being programmable as far as crew positions and able to create an instructor pilot to train the new pilots im loosing my desire to support dcs world because beforee when i was ignorant of the ai abilities and the helo was flyable i collected every mod i could afford there are several russion and non usa aircraft that i hadden purchased yet but it was only a month or two away from being complete including prepurchasing some aircraft like the harrier and f-18. its a same that it can go from fun to a drag with one or two releases.

Reduce the load.

What was your takeoff weight and air temperature ? EGT, Torque and damage model is being reworked and known to be WIP

The '1' you describe is 1000 ft/min, how fast do you expect to climb ?

The UH-1H SAC for mission planning is 1650 ft/min for an clean UH-1H with full tanks (7644 lb).

OAT 20°C, 86% loadout (M134 Minigun*2, XM158*2), 50% Fuel - Takeoff weight 8192 lb

• Pickup EGT approx 615°C,

• Flown with EGT at approx 590°C

• CAS 65 kt climb: 1000 ft/min @ 1000 ft, 800 ft/min @ 4000 ft

• 80 kt cruise @ 5000 ft

... its a shame that it can go from fun to a drag with one or two releases.

Yes it's a shame, but it's also great that long standing issues with the engine modelling are being addressed.

I was in the free flight for NEVADA so you can’t fly the basic instant action missions as is now. I may be frustrated about several things with dcs and micro complaining but it worked when I bought everything now it doesn’t.

Now how do I reduce the weight in instant action?

Load up the mission the edit it?

Such is the nature of having active development of an existing module to fix long standing core issues.

Look at it positively - an opportunity to learn a weaker airframe (UH-1B ? ) or practice high altitude operation with it's limitations :)

Now how do I reduce the weight in instant action?

Yes, if it was problematic, I'd copy it to my "Saved Games/DCS/Missions" folder and edit it in the ME.

It's what I did with the mission I loaded to demo a working climb, cruise and combat profile - previously it had max 101% heavy weapon loadouts, as there were no consequences (EGT's were unrealistic and ignored).

Such loadouts simply aren't viable ATM in v2.5.0 as EGT performance at MSL is similar to the RL 6000 ft Max Torque available curve.

Once BST correct EGT and Torque, you should be flying to max torque 50 psi (gearbox limitation) upto approx 4000 ft and to 615°C EGT (625°C 30 min max) above that (engine limitation).

For now - EGT is king at all altitudes.

I flew last night this morning and was softer on the collective until i bumped it in vr so i snatched it back by reflex and ended up landing hard enough to snap the rotors.
