Luft08
Does DCS have build in voice over IP to chat with squad members or do we need to use third party software?

Chump
DCS does not have built-in VOIP. Most people use third-party VOIP software like TeamSpeak.
VIKBELL
There is also a program called simple radio. There are 2 categories of fighter pilots: those who have performed, and those who someday will perform, a magnificent defensive break turn toward a bug on the canopy. shagrat
There is also a program called simple radio. simple radio integrates into the radios of the Sim. It uses frequency as set on in game radios to handle and separate "channels". Be careful at the beginning to understand how the radios work, how they are operated and what is their frequency limit. Certain planes have different radios with different ranges, and you cannot contact another plane (WW II birds, Red vs. Blue jets sometimes). As it is absolutely great for immersion and handling larger groups radio traffic, it is a good practice to simply use a Team speak setup for the lobby, briefing and for emergencies and Simpleradio standalone for in Sim radio comms. NeilWillis
We use a combination of Simple Radio, and TeamSpeak. Simple radio isn't so clever without your radios powered up.
CrashO
We use a combination of Simple Radio, and TeamSpeak This  Teamspeak for pre-flight stuff and general banter. And SimpleRadio for flight comms.
