bunraku
Whats the optimum speed/pitch to perform a Loop the Loop in the A-10C please? Thanks
flyco
Depends on weight and height. At low level 300 kias is adequate, with an initial pull of 4g. At max weight and 15k, you would be hard put to get round. I recommend starting at around 350 kias, 2k, over an airfield and using the runway to maintain the line. You can preform one at slower initial speed but you would need the A10 super light. No ammo, 50% fuel dry, no stores, etc.. My recommendation is to fly the A10 with a very dry loadout, then start to add weight and do it again. You will understand weight bearing much more that way and how it affects taxi, takeoff and flight. Including asymmetric loadouts.
