Campaign ideas for M2000C

So I was thinking of certain campaign ideas for the Mirage 2000, based upon various real world scenarios it's been up against in real world, also since we now have so many new countries in the game, many of which ahve had the Mirage 2000 or still have it, why not use them......

India

One I though of was a campaign based on the 1999 Kargil war, here Mirage 2000s serving for the Indian Air Force did air to ground missions and CAS in support of ground troops trying to recapture a peak in the Himalayan region. They along with IAF Mig-21s, Mig-27, Mig-29s and Jaguars flew these missions along with escort missions which were done mainly by Mig-29s. The IAF also used Mi-8s for supporting and transportation of troops.

They were mainly faced by PAF F-16As, Mirage IIIs, F-7s (Mig-21), although, none of these planes engaged in any kind of real air war, they did taunt each other countless times. Int he campaign we could create a hypothetical scenario where they actually do engage.

Egypt

Another campaign we can do is of Egypt. Now I know the Egyptian Mirages never went into any kind of combat. But in this case we can do another hypothetical scenario of Mirage 2000s along with Egyptian Mig-21s, 25s etc probably also teaming up with Syrian forces to fight against Israeli F-4s, F-15s and F-16s etc.

Republic of China (Taiwan)

In this campaign we can show Chinese aggression, probably to reclaim Taiwan or other neighboring nations and territories. We can have Taiwanese Mirages going into battle, possibly even a scenario of Taiwan teaming up with South Korea or Japan, and going into battle with their F-15Cs, F-15Es or KF-16s etc.

These are some cool ideas I thought for some Mirage 2000 campaigns that can be made in the future. If you've got anymore ideas, feel free to share. Let's also see if sometime in the future they might become a reality as well? :thumbup::music_whistling:

Nice ideas! I especially like the India that would make for some interesting games with the mig29ses but we still need more terrain for it to be realistic!

I actually built a mission for my squadron based on the Kargil war, but haven't flown it yet because my squads main aircraft is the A-10 and they typically want the A-10 squeezed into just about any mission, which doesn't work for the Kargil War scenario. It's only a single mission, but I could see that setting making an excellent campaign!

I think that we need some good pre-90's campaigns for most aircraft but especially the M-2K. I am growing tired of all of these "kill the insurgents" missions that I keep seeing. We need someone to make a good full scale air war scenario against aircraft of comparable capability.

It would also be interesting to see the campaign built around interceptions rather than achieving air superiority. Interception is, after all, the original purpose of the aircraft, not killing everything in the sky.

Why not replace the A-10C with the Bae Hawk instead since that'll be more realistic? The Hawk is there in the IAF while the A-10 isn't

For that we need to wait for the Mirage F-1 to come out first. This is strictly for the Mirage 2000C

Now, don't get me wrong, those are cool campains ideas. :)

I was merely advocating not to get too much in the "realism" thing because our module isn't exactly the same plane (= not the same capabilities) as those that actually fought (ou would have) for India, Egypt or Taïwan:

- India's and Egypt's one have RDM+ radar so more A-to-G capabilities but also less A-to-A capabilities (particularly in "hard" environnment such as look-down, jamming...)

- Taïwan OTOH has "-5" variant, with a much more modern (and capable) radar than our 2000C, with multi-target & fox 3 (MICA) capabilities; more like the upgraded -5F of FAF.

One of the things I have in mind when the Strait of Hormuz is out to work on M-2000C campaign that would feature M-2000s of the UAE Air Force, but these are also probably different variants than the one we have.

Before Mirage 2000-9, UAE had Mirage 2000E with RDM radar. So it isn't worse than any other export customer...

by the way, why not make 2000D model for AI ? so it could lase us some targets ?

In theory yes. Just need the laser codes to match for the GBU-12. I personally haven't gotten the AI A-10 to lase for me. But I have in multiplayer
